  1. they call it "It Works Waterproof Leather Balsam to Protect, Preserve & Restore" http://www.qvcuk.com/ukqic/qvcapp.aspx/ ... .UKHG-U078 is it the same stuff?
  2. hehe, sweet idea mate, never thought of that! also they say its best to place the anchor as close to a wall as possible
  3. I've got some Swift all weather gloves at the moment but they are over kill for these nice sunny days i need some summer gloves but don't want to break the bank any decent ones around..
  4. i got the oxford brute force anchor £13.49 from ebay uses a 16mm drill bit to drill 7.5cm deep holes then use allen key to screw the bolts in then hammer ball bearing into the allen key hole so it cant be undone. quite simple to do, looks a good deterrent.
  5. around £180 http://www.bikersdirect.co.uk/contentit ... tid=724275
  6. http://img380.imageshack.us/img380/6936/alpinestarssupertechbooqe0.jpg what are these like?
  7. of course i do dude from your first post it doesnt sound like you do it, 'clutch in and shift down to first just as your about to stop' well part of releasing the pressure is engine braking, feathering the clutch as you shift down. More importantly it sounds like you werent encouraged to do this on your CBT. j. yeh, wasn't told in the CBT to do this, hence why i wasn't doing it, but i will now do this
  8. ahh cool, will let you know what happens tomorrow i guess i just have to get used to releasing the clutch after down shifting.
  9. so is this is a safety feature then? il go out tomorrow for a spin and test this out, want to make sure it isnt a mechanical problem.
  10. amazing response times guys! got the bike with 140miles on the clock!! and come to think of it, i wasn't releasing the clutch lever when down shifting from 4th to 1st, this is when the problem occurred after that i did start releasing the clutch between down shifts and the problem went away. so you think this could be the reason why then? i didn't realise i couldn't put clutch in and down shift all the way to 1st whilst slowing down at traffic lights on my cbt i was learning on CG125, and on them i could down shift all tthe way to 1st whilst slowing down without any problems..
  11. hi guys just went out for a ride probably the 4th time ive been out with it since i bought it last week (second hand). been fine all week but today was a bit scary. riding along like normal, come to red traffic lights, brake on to slow down, clutch in to down shift to first gear as i am about to stop. gear would not go into first gear, think it seemed to be stuck in 3rd. so pushed my self to side of the road, trying to figure out what is going on. it just wouldn't go into first gear or Neutral, ended up going up gears as much as i can then then back down again, then finally somehow it went into Neutral, but from here i couldn't go back to first, so i had to release the clutch then press the clutch into get back into first, phewww i thought! thought i was stranded as i had left my mobile at home (for the first time!). so starting off again, next 5mins fine. then come to another set of lights and the same thing happens again, crapping my self cos it could be any thing managed to get into first again using the above method. then i thought i may be down shifting too fast when coming to traffic lights. so on the next traffic lights, i gradually went down gears instead of quickly tap tap tap tap tap , and it seemed to have worked, using this method it didnt happen again. got home and noticed that the clutch handle has some play, as in its quite loose to move up and down. i looked around and couldn't find any where i could tighten it up. Could this be related? any ideas what this could have been? am i riding the bike wrong? the bike is an 07 plate with 200miles only on the clock!
  12. yes 100% Waterproof/windproof has knox armor, has a detachable liner, has zip for back protector. for the money it is pretty good.
  13. search for Akito Edge http://img185.imageshack.us/img185/8228/edgejacketblackru3.jpg nice jacket for £50
  14. heheh told insurance company that the bike has NO security and is parked off road at my property. Insurance increase from locked garage to off road was only £19 extra so thought why not - with bennets in reality, it will have a Motrax Vishas disc lock, oxford hardcore chain+lock and is stored in a locked garage and need a anchor for good measure! first bike and all so security has to be OTT going to check prices on this anchor, see who has the cheapest
  15. Made space in my garage for my bike and now i need some sort of anchor device. i have solid 12" of concrete in the garage so i would require some sort of drill in type anchor. The only one i could find that was thatcham approved was the Datatool Fortress 1: http://img170.imageshack.us/img170/997/fortress11picmv2.jpg has anyone used one before? what are they like? is there any better ones then this that drill in, instead of concrete fill? for the time being i will be using a Oxford Hardcore chain until i get funds to buy a better chain. Any advice, much appreciated! thanks edit: doh! wrong section, mods can you move this to the Bike Chat please?
  16. i went to Hein Gerricke tried a few of the Leather jackets on, i found that i had to choose the exact chest size to get a good fit so your looking at a size 41. defo do not buy from the net until you have been in store to try them on all brands have different sizing conventions. Try in store and buy the same jacket on ebay if you wish. i ended up not getting the leathers as i cant stand tight clothing!
  17. thanks guys! have gone for the lock above (oxford)
  18. hi guys got my new bike today CBR125 im planning on storing it in my garage but need a few days to clear it out before i can stick stick it in there so at the moment, its parked off road at my property (insurance company notified!) il need to get a lock soon anyway so not sure which one to get? i know the almax ones are the best but bit dear fo rme at the moment. i have seen the OXFORD HARDCORE LOCK for 44 pounds. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 0257325930 is it any good? does this lock actually go through my brake disk or is it just for chaining the bike up to something/back wheel? if its for my brake disk, how do i know if it will fit on my bike? i cant find any compatibility lists anywhere. sorry for the n00b question! Thanks! sorted the link out for you -- Gary
  19. thanks guys, have emailed the seller, think i need a bigger size.
  20. i purchased a cordura textile jacket from ebay, stated the size was 48" (i am 46") cool i thought, got it for a bargain price, full armour which removable aswell, inner liner, waterproof etc it arrived today and i tried it on and it JUST fits me, and i mean got to breath in a little to zip it up, but once it zipped it feels ok, kinda a little tight though, arms are ok fit. now ive not got my bike yet nor have i worn a biker jacket before. is this how it is supposed to be? i'd like it a little loose, but im not sure in the interest of safety if im supposed to have it loose or as tight as possible. with it being as tight as it is, i can only wear a tshirt under the jacket, is this what most of you wear aswell? with a tshirt on i measure exact 46" across my chest. any ideas? thanks!
  21. Thanks guys ive just purchased some AKito Python II trousers on the bay, will be going to pick them up tonight as for jackets, without trying them on first im a bit wary of buying online. i like the Akito Python II, i am a size 46" (exactly), would i be better getting a size 48"? also the spada looks very nice aswell, pumilio how much did it cost from Hunts?
