Someone tried to nick my bike!
bigup replied to martlewis's topic in Clothing, Luggage, Accessories and Security
if you visit a particular house regularly hen grab ya self a large plant pot, pour in some cement mixture along with a D lock hanging out, let it dry and vala your home made HEAVY anchor. then chain your bike to the D lock. No fcuker is gona drag a bike with that trailing behind edit: or halve fill i with cement at the D lock and let it dry, then fill with soil and plant some plants, make it a stealth anchor! -
Korben, whats the quality of the straps like? also do they come with any warranty?

bigup replied to martlewis's topic in Clothing, Luggage, Accessories and Security
sorry to hijack this thread im after a Screen for my bandit 600, thing is though i have dominator lights so needs to fit over them and the cheapest i can find them are £50 £50 for a screen! anyone know of any sites that sell them a bit cheaper? -
thanks guys any info on their guarantee? do you need proof of purchase for any repair work that may need to be done? bit dubious of ebay cos all they give you is a bit of paper with what you have bought.

Is Richa clothing any good by reputation
bigup replied to wannaride's topic in Clothing, Luggage, Accessories and Security
there will be a load on ebay, try find some local so you can go try on, as nothing worse then getting some gear and it not fitting when it arrives! as for Alpinestars and other big brands, yep you pay for the name more then the quality. But if ya a brand whore like Korben that wont matter! most have CE approved Armor but to get CE approved leather will cost you £600+ Also the Superbike pros leathers are different to the ones that can be bought from the shops -

Got a 2 piece Richa Textile suit. good quality and fit nice. i think Richa, Shark (lids) and TCX are the same company (http://www.nevism.co.uk/) -
i always nod. dont nod to peds though
-
my advice would be go try on a few lids in shops. Note the ones you like and that fit well, then order from the net (proper shop). Those who say don't trust in transit etc. How do you think the lids arrive at high street shops? I have a shoei xr1000, love it! As for clothing. Try eBay you will save a fortune.

Track day with no leathers?
bigup replied to wiffers's topic in Clothing, Luggage, Accessories and Security
ebay, cheap 1 piece to get you through your first track day. if you like then buy some dearer ones! -

i was about to say the same thing. the gears are sequential (i think thats the word) to speed, so as you are stopping at some lights you need to down shift and aim to be in first just before you stop. same happened on my CBR125, i soon learnt to do the above and never had any problems. Plus is good practice aswell! so to recap, you cant slow down and stop at some lights and down shift from 5th to 1st all in one go. i hope that made sense!

Leathers -vs- textiles
bigup replied to wiffers's topic in Clothing, Luggage, Accessories and Security
its all about the fit aswell. for months i have had an RST leather 2 piece, was nice, then i bought a Hein Gericke leather 2 piece from ebay (just cos it was cheap) and oh my the fit is amazing, albeit it is tight when worn but i think thats how leather is supposed to be ie. tight but its very comfortable. i have textiles for colder weather and leathers for warmer days. suppose its what you feel comfortable in really, pop long to local hein or j+s to try some on.
