Not possible , the screws are unevenly spaced so it cannot be wrong . Black and whiteite pic is early Japanese and colour pic is Brazilian .
I understand that but as you have pointed out there is something definitely amiss with that top location .
If i was OP i would go back to start and redo ...
Not noticed that until pointed out but will check. Am pretty sure I haven’t removed generator plate since losing spark !!
So have you removed gen plate before losing spark?
Spot on TimR he did exactly as you suggested and now has a running bike

This one could help
also think the gearbox is of the Rotary type
-
Have you checked for battery voltage and continuity at the Reg/Rec and tested the stator
-
Have a look at this one may help better, will look at the manual see if I can help. Look at 20-21 in this manual

and Owners manual

This check if you like is generic ,Use the readings from your manual, and take the Voltage AC , as in the second half of this PDF
-
-
Could be two seperate faults , but as you have the Workshop manual turn to page 8-12 and section 10-4 try that test with the turn signal relay , that will show if the relay is kaput , understand you might not be able to do it tonight , then have a look at the Neutral Light Bulb holder for bad earth
-
Were the indicator bulbs working before this Neutral switch problem, have you checked the indicator bulbs on the right side
-
Yes the Horn was on that same 10amp wire which also feeds the neutral Bulb , so its looking more like Earthing problems, is the Indicator Relay clicking at all
-
Well. I have put it all back together after testing everything and re assembled the generator and re checked points and now have a spark at plug !!!
Great, was it something you missed the first time or new parts
-
Fitted new battery, boom started no probs,, put all back together, ready to get going,, nothing again.
Put on jump leads get it started but when take leads off it dies of death?? Anyone came across this before,,
Bike is cbf 125 any info very welcome..
Thanks in advance..
Did you solve the original "lights not working" problem
-
would have thought if the neutral switch wasnt working the clutch diode would have stopped the ignition circuit , you say you changed the fuses, both 10amp ones ? if so check the black wire from the 10amp fuse to the bulb on the dash, does your horn work?

Looks like the poll has closed!
And I understand that @Stu will now present the winner with their award.......a lifetime ban!
Great bit of fun though @XTreme , glad I dont have to call anyone a twat anymore , after doing it on here almost said it to the missus and I never swear in front of her
Breaks the monotony generated by the pimple-bursting adolescents and their Chinese bike problems!
OOH I wish I had a Chinese bike AND PIMLES again

Although this is an old Post , have you read through , check connectors and fuses and how is the battery charge
-
Yes i do now but before removing the head and lifting the barrel I had a spark.
what Ohms reading did you get on the Gen Ignition Coil, should be in the range 0.3 to 1.1
-
Been reading this post, could help with diagnosis, points toward the coil on the gen
https://www.bikechatforums.com/viewtopic.php?t=176136&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0
-
Right ,I thought you only got the spark with the coil off the bike and with the battery?
-
Have you put the ignition switch back on , could be you have an open circuit without that being there
-
I think the rectifier is only required to convert the 12v ac to dc for the charging of the battery ?
Yes sorry miss led you there , 12vac to the B/W wire

Sounds like your main fuse has gone again if theres no ignition, would do as Mississippi Bullfrog says , and get yourself one of these manuals, they are all pretty much generic, so worth it if your keeping the scooter
