  1. Thanks Tim, this has confirmed the fact I passed my theory, and Mod 1 & 2 on a 125cc....I've got to do it all over again! Who thought this one up?! Your over 24 with a full a1 licence and passed theory . Take 2 part test on a 600 or above 40kw . Unfortunately not. Theory test is only valid for 2 years.
  2. to be fair the only bit that you might not have expected is re-doing the theory.
  3. To put the other side, mod1 is only £15? If you have a mate prepared to risk you on their 650, could you not meet them at the test centre and just use the bike for the mod1? Its all off road so no issues around instructors/radio/etc.
  4. DVLA are famous for screwing up and losing motorbike entitlements. Do you have any proof of your old status because people seem to find it easier to retake the tests than get DVLA to fix things. As an aside -
  5. I wouldn't worry about it, just enjoy the extra training. It is the case though that you are probably not the person to evaluate how well you are doing. Did you ask them what they thought your failings were?
  6. The RAC apparently does a learner insurance thing that will insure you for just a couple of hours. Not sure if its just for cars or also for bikes?
  7. If the light was broken in such a way that there is now a short then yes.
  8. I think that part of the issue is that 'normal' clothes tend to have vanity sizing ie the claimed size is somewhat less than the real size. From what I've seen motorbike sizing seems nearer to real. If you really want to see silly sizing try looking at cycling gear. I've a couple of 6XL tops. The XL's that I tried (my normal size) were like kids clothes.
  9. Cheers Spanner. much appreciated
  10. I seem to have bought a ybr 125 anyone got a linky to a workshop manual for the thing?

    Cracked Fork

pics? I'd be very cautious of a crack in the fork - cracks spread and the fork is under pressure so....
  12. Is this a design course? an engineering course? As above, I'm struggling to see the point of this. If you're into the aesthetic design then you'd not start with an existing frame would you?
  13. Thanks For anyone else looking for similar fit, my second choice would have been a Held. I tried the Held Katana which has the sun visor built in and is on offer for only £40 (in blue/black) which just had slight pressure at my temples. I'd guess that a Held without the sunvisor might be a good alternative.
  14. My wife's car (nissan LEAF) has a rear view camera for parking. It isn't bad in daytime/good weather but in the dark or wet it becomes useless very quickly. It is built into the underneath of the handle for the boot so you might expect it to be sheltered but it picks up muck/water really quickly. I'm in the habit now of wiping it everytime I walk past it. I'd rather have a mirror than a camera.
  15. The dash? I want a HUD visor
  16. Thanks people. The HJC wasn't bad, but not very much not as good as the qwest. Anyway, I've bitten the bullet and ordered the silver Qwest from getgeared. For anyone interested it looks like only the silver size XL is 'cheap' at £166 and it only comes up if you search for the qwest - if you go through the menus it only seems to offer black or white at higher prices.
  17. I've been doing the trawls of the local places trying on helmets. LS2, HJC, AGV, Duchini, G-Mac, etc, etc. So far the one that has been most comfortable was the Shoei Qwest, on 'offer' at £260 at infinity in York. Possibility of there being some offers as they are moving site in Feb/March. Done some searching and I can get one in silver (maybe a discontinued colour?) for £170. Any other helmets that fit like the Shoei but for less cost?
  18. OK, no problem. Glad someone is making use of it.
  19. Since nobody has replied to this, could I have it? I do feel rather cheeky since I'm not an established member - which is why I keep looking and thinking...
  20. Can you expand on this? You seem to be saying that having a back protector is worse than not?
  21. I have a smallish one in my jacket, but bought a used knox from ebay because I thought it was probably important to get full spine coverage rather than just the top of my back.
  22. If there is nothing obvious, Id get the tyre refitted - tll them you've a low leak and they should make sure the inner rim bead is clean and free of either corrosion or flaking paint
  23. Woodworm likes damp wood - get it nice and dry and the woodworm will go elsewhere. Sort out whatever leaks exist.
  24. Yes, but you will have to keep the L plates. Its your call, but I'd suggest that you want to have proper training just from a safety point of view. CBT is very much an absolute minimum. How long until you are 19?
