Hi, I need a new chain and sprocket for my Yamaha Thundercat (600cc). I'm confused about which one to buy as there seems to be heavy weight, and other types available. I usually do less than 3k a year and mainly use the bike for commuting. I don't mind spending a little more if it means I get a better quality product. Please can someone recommend me one? Thanks

Hi all I need new tyres for my Yamaha Thundercat 600. Any recommendations? I never take it on the track (and am never likely to). Also my MOT advisory was that the rear tyre valve stem is slightly damaged, should I get this sorted before I get them fitted? Many thankies

Hi all, Just asking for your help please. I took my bike for its MOT and they pointed out some of the LEDs on the indicators are not working. What do I do? Can I buy replacement LEDs or do I have to buy a whole new thing? I appreciate this is probably a very common/easy thing but I am, to conform to an age old stereotype: a) a girl and b) know nothing about/have no interest in mechanics. Thank you

Hi everyone. Wondered if you could help me out with my new helmet? I bought it recently and am having trouble with it fogging up. It came with two plastic bits which I think are the things that stop it fogging. My old helmet came with it already fitted and I never had a problem. My new one didn't have them fitted, and there are no instructions. It doesn't seem to be as easy as simply snapping it in, because the space where they fitted on my old helmet is pretty non-existance and non-flexible on my new one. I don't want to damage it! Can anyone help please? Hopefully the pictures will give you an idea. Charged it up again today, tried it with the reserve on as someone suggested, still turning over but not wanting to start. Gonna get more fuel in it, and in the mean time keep the battery topped up, next plan is to get someone who actually knows about bikes to look at it, I can't even get the bloody fairings off!

Haven't been here for a while, eh! Thanks for the replies so far. It turns over, a few weeks ago I almost had it, in fact it did start for about a minute, I kept it running as I was going to rev the shit out of it to clear out all the crap... then before I could do that it just died, and wouldn't start, but again, it was still turning over. Then the battery gradually died as I kept trying. I don't have a garage and keep it outside, and I can't access the battery easily, so I was waiting for a few weeks for a fair day when I could run an extension cable out to it and charge it. Now it is fully charged, but it's not starting. Turning over, but not igniting. Could it bee the spark plugs have got damp? Old fuel has been suggested to me a couple of times. Guess I will try and borrow a petrol can and get it topped up with some new juice.

Hi guys Wondering if you can fire a few ideas at a technaphobe... My bike won't start, I've charged the battery with an Optimate which usually does the trick but I guess it's just been sat there too long and doesn't want to play. I do though! Want to ride the damn thing!! Please answer in plain, idiot proof English as I actually know nothing about mechanics! Thanks in advance

Right seeing as no one has decided anything on the other thread, me and Nick have decided we are going for drinks in Chi on the 23rd Dec. Meet in The Fountain at 7.30pm, may possibly move on from there, so grab me mobile number if you're coming later on. It's a short walk from the station, no excuses now! I ride to work 3/4 times a week, and hoping to continue through the winter. I'm more than up for rides but I work shifts and that coupled with the unpredicatable weather leaves little hope!
