  7. Hi I ride the downs most weekends, and go to the Ace quite a lot. Loomies was suggest to me, so this year I thought it might be good to do as many bikers cafes as possible thanks for the reply anyway.
  8. Hi I'm thinking of taking a ride down to Loomies cafe in Hampshire. Never been there before . I've never done this ride out thing before either. I Haven't even worked out a route yet but it won't be motorways. Well not all of it . I'll be leaving St. Albans in the morning, about 9am. The Weather hopefully will hold. Please note I'm not a fast rider and like to enjoy the ride not see the landscape go past in a blur. So if you you feel like coming along or know some decent roads your welcome. Cheers mick
  9. Hi I've copied this of the triumph facebook page, hope this the corredt place to post it, I'm sure a mod will redirect it if I've got it wrong SARACENS Charity Bike ride Easter Sunday from Old Albanians RFC ground, Harpenden Road in aid of HERTS AIR AMBULANCE. Turn up on the day before 10:00 and you can join in for £5 the police escorted 40 mile ride out that finishes in Watford for the Saracens Rugby game against Gloucester. Please do attend. Thanks
  10. I have been thinking about what people have said, and i have to agree with hoody that it is good to have a bass to work from, and that Poland is a big a big chunk of the riding, which will either take a good few days to complete, or mean having to ride big mileage to cover it quickly. which may put people off. I have also done some quick maths, and have worked out the cost of fuel and tolls on autoroutes to cover this part of the journey is just as expensive as going on lastminet and booking return flights, transfers and 3 nights in a hotel. so it may be simpler to cut this part of the journey out. No one knows what the weather will do. if i get to the nurburgring and it's raining i would prefer to wait to ride it dry, which could put the rest of the trip out. so i will now start to work out the finner things and contingance plans.
  11. After some advice from HOODY, i'm not sure about the trip from the Nuburgring to Auschwitz. The round trip from Nurburgring to Auschwitz then on to Stelvio pass is about 1500 miles nearly half of the whole trip :/ . I could gun it and do big mileage to cover the distance then take it easier later. or miss it out all together and go from the Nurburgring to the Stelvio pass saving a 1000 miles. If I miss it out I gain time and have more time to see the countryside, but I won't get to see something I have really wanted to see. If Poland is flat and has nothing to see then there's nothing to stop me getting on the motorway, autoroute? and making good speed and head way. i could book into a hotel to make the ride more do able. This is my biggest bug bear what to do?
  12. I Must admit that i haven't worked out the finer points of this trip. I have estimated the trip will be a couple of hundred miles short 3,000 miles. so lets say it's 3,500 miles. I was thinking of leaving on a friday and travelling for 17 days, returning on the sunday. Simple maths say's that we then should cover 205 miles a day which i don't think is to much to cover in a day. i excpect it will be a mixture of lanes and motorway. I must also admit that i have never done anything this big before, but lifes an adventure. Like i said, a couple years I invited people to come with me to the alps, several people on here said they might be interested I also had about a dozen friends who'd said they'd come. However, As i finalised eveything people dropped out one by one, Some of which had genuine reason others couldn't be bothered. All I can say is I did go, and i had a great time. there are talkers and doers in this world and i for one don't want to sit at home when i'm older and wish i had done these types of things. However there's nothing to say plans can't get changed if we feel it's getting too much. for example we could go to Germany, then if we feel it's to much, drop down to the alps, or go to poland and miss the alps out, but my plan is as i stated in my first post. I'm not all knowing or a big head, just a normal bloke and i do appreciate all the info you have given me. Cheers
  13. Right, i Know some of you are already planning trips to europe next year, and this may sound like another similar post and i suppose it is, but here goes. I don't mind when i go but will post dates shortly. SO TELL ME WHEN, if your interested. i did this a couple of years ago and ended up going with just my brother. We just went to the Alps but it was awsome. so what do i want to do? england france belgium germany nerbergring poland Auschwitz then back to colditz then it gets vague but we then go to italy and do the the famous stelivos pass then stay around the french swiss italian border in the alps. then through france back to the UK and home. if your interested or would like to add anything I'm open to anything. just want to ride
  14. hi, can anyone tell me if there is any difference between a 97 and 98 fairings. my son ahs dropped his bike and found some bits but doesn't know if there the same or not.
  15. so does that mean when i bring it to compression in 1 1/2 pushes. it was on it's way up to compresson, but when it takes four pushes it had just passed compression so i had to move it further round. So therefore it's not a problem?
  16. Hi I've just brought an XR400 to play on, It needed a bit of work doing to it. When I got the bike it only needed one and a half Pushes (if thats the right word) on the kick start to bring it up to compression. I haven't done anything to the engine as yet, apart from a full oil change, but now on occasion's i need about four pushes to bring it up to compression. is this OK and normal? was i just lucky before with the 1 1/2 pushes.
  17. just a quicky does anyone know if the zx9r c1 clutch basket assembley is the same as the E model cheers

  21. ok then post meets and where they are might benifit everyone not just those down south
  22. I've read thats there's ment to be a bike meet in hastings on bank holiday monday. However I've not heard much about it. So, is it on? and who's going? If it's on I'll be riding down from herts, if anyone wants to come
