  1. Oil is pretty fresh, engine seems pretty good. which is good because i'm too scared to undo the sump after what happened to my last ybr. sump plug cross threaded and the aluminium that went underneath it cracked.
  2. Hi guys so I've got an issue with my YBR, there's a ton of lag in the acceleration, so I was wondering what it could be? My throttle sticks and doesn't immediately snap back, the bike has been sat since January also. Anyone have any ideas? Not the most mechanically minded yet, I haven't fiddled with me bike, had to buy a new one as my last YBR oil sump kicked it.
  3. speedos are usually 5mph or so out tbh also, nice bike, petrol tank is weird as hell tho haha
  4. I've seen a couple on Gumtree and Facebook mate. Here's an example of one. https://www.gumtree.com/p/yamaha-motorbikes/yamaha-tw125/1255444812
  5. Hi guys, I'm after a 125cc motorbike. I've cash available but not looking to spend more than say £600/£700, not looking for amazing. Just road legal with MOT. Here's what I'm looking for. Anything similar to Suzuki EN125/Suzuki GS125/YBR 125/CG 125 or a Kymco Pulsar 125. As you can tell I'm into my commuter bikes. I'm even into Varaderos, I've seen luckier things happen. I know it's possible to get the bikes I'm after on the budget I've got as I've had some bargains before. No supermotos, two strokes, no Chinese bikes or mopeds please and of course, strictly no 50ccs or anything above 125.
  6. Both bikes need work. The Street has wiring and electrical issues that need to be addressed. The ZSX-F needs a new mudguard, new compression rings, rear disc brake and pads. The ZSX-F comes with full service history, MOT for 3 years as it's a 16 plate, other than that, no faults at all. The Street has no other issues other than the stated. Front brake will need bleeding. I have the green slip for the Street 125. I don't have the time required to fix these bikes, I am open to a swap for a working bike that has MOT. But ideally I want £700 cash or an offer. Images of the bikes can be seen here. https://www.gumtree.com/p/lexmoto-motorbikes/lexmoto-street-125-lexmoto-zsx-f-125-learner-legal-spares-or-repairs/1251232153 I'm quite desperate for a quick sale, I need a bike asap so I am willing to swap for any of the following but if you have a 125 for sale and would be interested in swapping, please just try me, I may just be interested provided it's not enduro/supermoto/trail/scrambler type bikes (they get stolen like sweetrolls in my area), anything four stroke considered! (Preferably a CG, Lexmoto ZSA etc)
  7. UPDATE: After getting the bike checked over, it's definitely compression/piston issues. So, if anyone's interested in a 16 plate former cat D, let me know haha...
  8. You can charge it wherever you want, if it's f**k then it's still going to be f**k. It may even be reading 12.4V (ish). Still doesn't mean it's not f**k. Put a multimeter set to 20V DC across the terminals. Fire it up. If the voltage drops noticeably then there's your answer - bin it at the local tip and buy a new one. I'll give it a try, cheers bud.
  9. Battery is charged mate, got it charged properly at a bike shop, got a new sparky, I'll check the regulator/rectifier. Do you or does anyone know what voltage my bike should be giving out? It's a ZSX-F 125, it's a 12v to my knowledge, I just don't know a great deal about electrical stuff.
  10. Update! There's compression, my mate put his finger over the sparky hole and there was a pop and a gush of air!
  11. I'm ask I for more than I paid for and I got charged for recovery.
  12. Considering he bought it only yesterday..... Please note my posts are only highlighting what can happen but have stated to check the basics ( i have even refrained from asking if it has enough fuel in tank ) Was it a private sale or dealer . Private sale bud. Had a full tank. No multi-metre on it yet but the more and more I research the more and more it looks like top end. I've even asked a mechanic today and he believes top end too. So, I'm cutting my losses and putting the bike up as spares or repairs so I can make some money back at least.
  13. If it is the case that the pistons have seized, does anyone know what it would require to get the bike running again? It's a Lexmoto ZSX-F 125, the ZS125 FMI engine. Never done it before so I'm looking to either buy a complete engine second hand or redo the top end. Could anyone sort me a list of parts I'd need so I can buy them or point me in the direction of a breaker/dealer who'd sell a second hand engine please?
  14. UPDATE: There are no metal shavings in the oil, just got a friend to check as the bike is in his garage atm.
  15. Not at all offended my man! It's just confusing as usually a bike would start even with little to no oil in, no? I don't think it's seized as the wheels didn't lock up and as stated, still turns over and starts on a bump.
