  1. Quick question sometimes my bike isnt starting first time, is there anything simple that could be causing this? ive read bits and bobs but lots of things people mention like tinkering with idle speed, cleaning carb, all dismantle things solutions.

Cant be anything serious if its only sometimes when bike has been sat over night.... right :) is it as simple as its just cold?

When it happens the engine starts then you hear the revs slow right down to a chug chug chug stop. if you switch into first when it doing this engine instantly stops.

Usually i can start the bike then slowly rev the engine a few times till it sounds more alive then switch up into first and its fine, other times i have to use the choke.

    Cheers guys.

  2. so i was gonna fit a new odometer as my stock one dosent light up on a night, opening it up today i found its just a blown bulb *sigh* anywho easy fix so having looked at this new ododmeter that has arrived the wiring is completley diffrant to my current one

so here is the pics, is this a lost cause or as im guessing a lot of soldering and messing about

  3. Mine has the reserve tap but no fuel indicator, when I bought it I was told i had about 100 miles left so didn't think it needed refuelling so soon. Anywho it cut out I didn't know why. Once some more fuel trickeld in it would start and then conk again lol.

Put it to reserve and was fine lol , could be fuel not reaching engine for whatever reason certainly made mine cut out lol

Glad it's going well and your feeling comfortable again

  4. When I passed my bike test, I ripped off my L-plates and made a point of riding home on the motorway, because I could. I remember thinking how uneventful it was.

That was back in the day when I did my full test on my own 125cc bike which at the flick of a switch went from 12 to 34bhp..

lmao i need one of those!  in serousniess though i was like that on the a19 first time , got to full revs and sat there for 30 mins saying to myself are we there yet, are we there yet?

  5. Me on motorway after just my cbt would have been suicide in all honesty lol

Did you not go on any major dual carriageways?

The A2 is a four-lane road between Greenhithe and the M2 but I have been up and down that section countless time on just a CBT.

Plenty of motorway-like A-roads. Apart from one random remaining roundabout the A3 is uninterrupted from Kingston until about seven miles north of Portsmouth, where it becomes the A3(M) and, I guess, far more dangerous.

Heading east out of Portsmouth the A27 goes to four lanes, and you need to get into the third one to stay on the road rather than end up on the A3(M) slip road. (Although there is a slip road coming off that slip road for a roundabout, so you could stay left and come off and rejoin if you are unable to change lanes.)

It makes me wonder if the fetishization of motorway partially intimidates new drivers, rather than just seeing them just as major A-roads with different colour signs.

Nope didnt go on a duel carriageway during cbt, heck we didnt even get above 30mph so at that stage i was totally unprepared to go onto a 70mph road crash waiting to happen lol

A roads dont bother me now have done the a-19 lots of times and i use a duel carriageway everyday for work.

I think learner bikers should be ok on motorways IF your training on a bike that's powerful enough to at least hit the speed limit and give you a bit more in case you need to get out of a bad situation, so training for your DAS or bigger A licenses, with an instructor fair play

125s on a motorway just reminds me of people on 30mph mopeds doing duel carriageways, yeah you can do it but really??

(unless its the m1 at peak times then you would be stuck in traffic pushing your bike :P )

  6. It's comfy to ride and keeps up with traffic so I'm happy , even hit 70 yesterday which shocked me as it is only supposed to cap at 65 I read lol go lil bike!

speedos are usually 5mph or so out tbh

also, nice bike, petrol tank is weird as hell tho haha

Cheers, its very rare it touch's 70 done it twice and that was downhill lol usually 60-65, i think its pretty accurate speedo wise (done a speed match with wifeys car)

Petrol tank is odd to figure out how much fuel you have left, but the bike is comfy as hell to ride :D

  7. so a learner car coming down the slip road isnt checking his right so im guessing he hasnt seen me (not slowing at all either ) and is about to pull out into my bike, i give him a short beep on the horn just to get his attention and moved out of his path , I give a friendly hand up just to show im not been a dick (im a learner to we all do daft shit sometimes) anywho he is not the nob, his driving instructor waving his fist and ranting at me is.... i slowed down enough to flip the prick off the went on my way lol.

Felt sorry for the guy driving i was embarrassed for him

  8. So ive just been woke up about an hour ago by my two German Shepards going ape, look out the back to see my back gate open, go inspected it and it seems they have climed in, tried to cut through the gates lock and failed so kicked the gate in then legged it. Glad my bike is locked to the wall seems the dogs barking and the chains were too much of a risk.

Really worried about them trying again now though

    But, Sunderland.

If they don't someone else will have a go. Moar ground anchors and chains will defeat them.

Do they still have all the "secondhand" shops on Hilton Rd? When we had stuff nicked in the morning you could always buy it back from there in the afternoon! Once caught one chavvy little shit as he got stuck halfway through the downstair's toilet window.

yeah they do mate lol, im from middlesbrough originally so you think i'd have been expecting this lol

  9. Dogs got loads of praise and treats lol Think im just gonna bring it in the house on a night now, will be a pain getting it in but least i know if they break in the house they will have 2 9stone balls of fluff and teeth to contend with

Just dont get why they would try and steal my bike lol they could run faster XD.

Hoping it wasnt my new neighbours, the lass is canny but her boyfriend and his "friends" seem right dodgy, seems odd how they have got over the wall (coverd in glass cept on the neighbours side) tried to cut through the gate padlock/failed so smashed the gate to escape not even touched my bike chains.
