  1. took my mod 1 this morning and failed. no minors but one fail. cos I didn't stop with both my wheels between the blue cones. I had my front wheel in them but not both. the guy who tested me was a right bast*rd a face like a Zulus hut, and miserable as hell. I went through the speed trap at 52 hit the swerve at 58 all good then didn't stop with both wheels between the 4 blue cones only my front. to me this is bollox the only thing he says I done wrong , FAIL!!!. I think I got a bit confused with all the blue cone red cone stop before blue cone stop between blue cone go in-between red and blue cone ect, but I stopped without over shooting the cone I stopped a wheels length to short!! and that was doing 58!! coming out a swerve. my instructor couldn't believe I failed . another instructor from a different school commented to mine that he was watching me and thought I was riding perfect!!. to say im gutted is an understatement. I wont be doing it again !!. if I was like an idiot clipping cones and putting my feet down ect I could accept it as my fault and ide do it again but to get failed for that is ridiculous! I just put my bike on e bay for sale and im selling all my new gear I bought. im 53 I done many tests , like lorry, heavy plant, jcb, car test etc, and I've never experienced a test like this one! its not sour grapes fellas I believe I did nothing wrong and should have passed with a clean sheet. what a complete waste of money!!!!!. adios fellas.
  2. I would notice the rainbow effect or the dark patch before I decided to pull up at that pump and use another lol, ( remember your training ) lol
  3. just to clarify fellas I can do a u turn from a rolling start and I never have had to put a foot down. I get what your saying I still think a minor would suffice rather than a fail though as you haven't dropped the bike lost control of or put anyone in danger. another thing I find harsh is getting a minor for stalling on the emergency stop, surely the object of the emergency stop is to stop the bike safely in a controlled manor , if you can achieve this why penalise you for not pulling in the clutch , you have stopped the bike in the allotted distance without dropping it or swerving or locking up. you have done exactly what the manoeuvre requires you to do and that's bring the bike to a stop in an emergency. ( I can do an emergency stop correctly without stalling it by the way) I just think a minor for a stall is not necessary. in reality if some clown pulls out in front of you from a side road and you only got a split second to react your reaction is to stop whether you don't.. pull in the clutch in is in my view should not be frowned upon as long as you stop!! an emergency stop is surely to test your reaction time.
  4. I hit 55 through the swerve on my mod 1 training and my instructor told me " hey that's fast enough" .so it seems you can go to fast?. I think its really harsh to fail you an a mistake in a manoeuvre you have probably done correctly dozens of times before. why only give you one stab at it?. if you balls it up surely the correct way deal with it is for the examiner to ask you ( hey wot the f**k happened then) ask you what went wrong and if you understand how to correct it, if you do then you should be allowed to do it again if you balls it up on the second attempt then obviously you should be binned. these testers must understand a lot of guys are bricking it during these tests and must take that into consideration , thus offering a second chance. if you make a mistake but instantly realise what contributed and caused that mistake then in my opinion you should be given a second chance . passing a test on the day don't make you experienced and competent at anything. it just means you have met the required standard on that day.
  5. hi guys, I know im going get some stick for writing this as I have not passed my test yet however I got my mod 1 test tomorrow. I notice that quite a few people are failing the test for putting a foot down during the u turn during the mod 1 test. I thought the mod 1 test is about safely handling the bike how can putting a foot down in a u turn be dangerous??. your not putting any other road use in danger or yourself!! also you have to do it from a rolling start why?, ive been driving 39 yrs ( jcb on roads, lorries ect) and have never ever seen anyone do u turn without stopping at the kerb first. doing a u turn as long as you are not a danger to other road users, fall of or hit the curb why fail you?. I don't mean having your foot down constantly throughout the manoeuvre or using your foot like a paddle if you just dab your foot once why do you get failed??. (by the way on my mod 1 training I never once put a foot down on any manoeuvre) im just curious as to why its such a cardinal sin to do so.?. emergency stop I get, the swerve I get the going in and out of cones I get figure of 8 why? never seen a situation where you have to do a figure of 8 manoeuvre on a public road. walking pace speed I get that too. but the u turn foot down fail I don't.
  6. well I done the theory test yesterday and passed it. the hazard perception test was easier than I thought as all videos only have 1 hazard ect for one clip that has 2. the guy booking me in was an x police bike cop . we got chatting and I explained my anxiety of the hazard test regarding clicking to soon. he told me when you see the hazard click immediately then count to 2 and click again , count to 2 and click again so if you do click to early the other 2 clicks will register. I took his advice and I passed. im not saying to do it this way however it worked for me. hope this helps someone who's nervous about taking this test. I still think its not fit for purpose though and needs addressing. just booked my mod 1 for next weekend !!
  7. hey hogs, im glad I am not the only one who thinks this test is ridiculous then. so by clicking 2 or 3 times on the same potential hazard will get me a pass. so im being forced to abandon my own judgement and 30 yrs experience on the road to comply with one individual at the dsa definition of a developing hazard!!;. so when I take the hazard perception test I have to think like a complete novice someone who's never put a wheel on a road before! . it goes against my own rational and perception !!. but there ya go these tests never allow for common sense, driving experience or an individual's reaction times they treat everyone as a complete rookie and moron... ok guys my rant over all the best to anyone who has got to take this bull bullshit test
  8. hi guys, I got my bike theory test tomorrow I have done the test online and scored 100% however I am dreading the hazard perception test I have tried it online failed 3 times and just scraped in on my 4th attempt. its ridiculous the test is not fit for purpose . I am 53 been driving 30yrs I have driven lorries and currently drive a jcb all over wales and NEVER have had an accident! In 30 yrs. being a very experienced driver I see or detect a potential hazards every day and deal wit them accordingly. I don't need a pre programed computer simulation to tell me when a hazard may occur or develop us experienced road users use or own judgement. when you see potential hazard on the road you asses it and act accordingly, yet that stupid computer program expects you to identify a hazard at the point it believes you should, a hazard is a hazard it CANNOT develop into a grater hazard !! its nuts... I have failed for clicking to soon ????? and not continuing to click the closer I get to a potential hazard why? ive already identified the hazard and reacted accordingly . its obvious that an experienced driver with 30yrs driving huge vehicles that can potentially kill someone has a better perception of a potential hazard than a man made computer simulation!! its a crock of shit it really is. why do you have to click on the same hazard 2 or times at different stages when you have already identified that hazard once????. its madness.... why because the hazard mite develop? well you have already identified it and are prepared to deal with it accordingly!!!!!!!!. every roundabout, every junction, every lane change, every traffic light ect ect is a potential hazard but that's a part of every day driving and you deal; with these things accordingly. as an experienced driver I encounter these potential hazards every day and yet I am penalised for seeing them to soon!!!!!!!!!!! . this so called test is unfit for purpose you fail if the guy who designed the test decides if you don't click when he thinks you should have and don't click if he thinks you should identify the same hazard 2 or 3 times as you get closer to it. hers the best one... your driving down the road there is a parked car on your left you see it then a woman and a little old lady starts to walk behind the car toward the road... right its a potential hazard they might be going to put something in the bot but maybe they intend to walk out from behind the car, you identify it as a potential hazard you react instantly your aware of the potential danger you slow down and be prepared to stop, you have seen the potential hazard and reacted accordingly, they step into the road you react instantly and stop they cross the road you don't pull off till they are safely on the pavement then you pull off and continue on your way.. YOU FAIL?????? why???? because the computer program says you didn't click when they actually stepped into the road didn't click when they crossed the road!!! . its bull shit!! you correctly identified the potential hazard before it occurred and dealt with it accordingly , you identified it reacted to it and dealt with it correctly why fail you???? this so called test is un fit for purpose and should be replaced with a test that truly reflect ones reaction times and response's to potential hazards .
