The cat kills the noise! I bumped into a gsx650f one day with the same beowulf exhaust but the shorter version(louder) and my fzs600(no cat, 4 in 1 straight collectors) was let's say at least twice as loud at idle!
I've heard a couple of de-cated bikes compared with the ones which still have them, that's the difference!

I had a chance to ride a Fzs1000(143hp) for 10 minutes, on normal roads, and the extra power in normal roads at normal speeds its barely noticeable, I found out that I don't need to downshift to make progress(oh you're in 6th at 50, whatever, here you go)like on my fzs600(95hp).
Probably at high speeds(70+) there is a greater difference.
I would love a bigger bike though, just for the feel of it.

If you don't get caught by a anpr camera you'll be fine.
I was in a similar situation, had to leave my bike untaxed and uninsured 'off the road' for 2 weeks, then the bike was sold. I haven't received any letters since.

Micks monster burger on Portsdown Hill in Portsmouth is open!

The ironic thing is that where I live is a safe area. There is very little crime. Yes I don't have a garage but even with a garage I was only saving about £600.
My postcode area is big though and covers a few different towns and neighbourhoods. Some affluent and some poor.
Yes, it's interesting how the postcode affect the premium. On a Oxford postcode my premium was £136, per year 3rd fire and theft parking on the public road, I've moved house to hampshire and the insurer wanted an extra £100 to my premium, with the bike being parked on private property away from public? I'm sure it's safer statistically this way!

My Oxford heated grips have an 'intelligent' controller which senses the when the engine is off and they turn themselves off after 3 minutes. They're connected straight to the baterry terminals.
Never had a nasty surprise!.

Commuting on the Fzs600, I get around 200 miles before the lights.
Touring and motorway I get 220-230 miles to the tank.
The tank is 22 litres, I get around 52-55 mpg. Since I commute daily on the bike I need a decent fuel consumption, I wouldn't care if I didn't use the bike as a workhorse! I would like a litre bike or a big vtwin!
Never been on a track.
My friends Harley 48 does 80-90 miles to the tank...

I must have left the parking lights on last night.
My bike wont start today. The light, display wont come on and all was well with the bike up until then.
Can I get a jump from a car battery or does it have to be another bike?
Or do I need a new battery?
Bike is a 2018 gsxs125
Thanks
I had to jump start my friend's bike using my car, with ignition off. In our case it was fine!

Taken from the internet:
Fault codes are stored on the ECU , these will be shown via the engine fault light on the dash boardas a series of flashes of the light .
The engine management light will come on for 3 secs every time you start the bike , if the light does not come on replace the bulb at rear of clocks .
Codes are all 2 digit numbers , the first number will be read by long flashes of the light , the second
number of the code with be in short flashes of the light .
Fault code 12 - Crankshaft position sensor
Fault code 13 - Intake air pressure sensor
Fault code 14 - Intake air pressure sensor
Fault code 15 - Throttle position sensor
Fault code 16 - TPS
Fault code 19 - No signal from ignition to ecu
Fault code 22 - Intake air temp sensor
Fault code 28 - Engine temp sensor
Fault code 30 - Tip over sensor
Fault code 33 - Igniton coil
Fault code 39 - Fuel injector
Fault code 41 - Tip over sensor
Fault code 44 - Read write error ECU
Fault code 46 - Power supply error to FI system
Fault code 50 - Ecu malfunction
Fault code 51 - Diagnosis cooling fan motor relay
Fault code 52 - relay diagnostics lamp head light

I had the same issue with my fazer, bump started fine, rode it for like 30 miles on NSL roads, parked the bike, and then I wouldn't start anymore after a couple of hours, but it would start straight away again.
I did the multimeter test and it showed ~12v with no load and the second I pushed the starter button the voltage dropped to 2-3v.
Bought a new battery and it was fine since, starts first time every time.

If you turn the ignition on, you should be able to hear the fuel pump priming, like a whine coming from the fuel tank.
-
My 12 plate ybr didn't have a lambda sensor! The bike was stock.
The TPS on the throttle body has an air mass sensor and the fast idle circuit incorporated.
If there is an electrical problem the engine light will tell you by a flashing pattern an error code.

Try beowulf? Prices are fair and the build quality is great.
https://beowulfuk.com/product/suzuki-gsx-s750-17-onwards/
I have one on my fazer and the sound is incredible, loud but good loud, with the baffle out.
As above, if you want your bike to be proper loud, get rid of the cat.
Normally Suzuki's have the cat in the end can, if I'm not wrong?

Thanks all for advice! I have sold the bike in the meantime.

I dont know anybody around the area where I live with a drive/garage, and I can't leave the bike at my local garage, because I'm away next week...
The annoying thing is that someone was meant to see and buy the bike but something occurred and he will come next weekend... just to complicate things.
I live in a block of flats, and there is a car park behind the apartment block but its accessible by public... is that a good place? That'll make things easy for me. Chuck it in a corner, chain it, disk lock on, cover up and done. Unless a copper or DVLA will physically check the plate I should be fine? I could be screwed if someone hits my bike.
I might try and ask my local gym if I can park my bike on their grounds since it's well away from the road and on private land...
The insurance is only 3rd party for the bike anyways.
More stress before holiday!

I haven't got the space to leave it somewhere until it sells, no access to a garage or private land.

Hello, so the insurance of the 125 is due next week, and the bike is for sale, but i don't want to tax it and insure it anymore because i don't use the bike at all.
Can I just SORN it and not renew the insurance, and leave the bike under a cover, chained to a lamp post? Legally where do I stand? Because technically it's a public road the place where i will keep the bike parked up until it sells, i just dont want trouble with dvla/police .
-
I'll leave this here!

Same here, first year of insurance on my fazer was £450 3rd party fire an theft, then at renewal the company wanted the same money, I've shopped around and I got the same cover for £139 plus less excess plus free legal cover.
Loyalty to a company is not good, as far as I've noticed.

I would love to try a big v-twin one day, just to see how different it feels compared to my fazer 600...

As Mississippi Bullfrog says, the spark plug can degrade quickly in a short time on bikes. Had the same problem on my ybr, the spark plug died 10 seconds after I have started the engine, looked alright from the outside. Got a new spark plug and it fired up staight away.

Yes, I even said this to the lady at the other end, that I got the number from this forum!
She's asked me if I had a referral code or something like that...
-
Thanks Stu !
If that's true, that means I'm supporting the forum!
Have them a call today, everything got sorted in 15 mins over the phone.
The quote was very competitive plus free legal support thrown in so I went with them!

How is bikesure as an insurer?
My fazer's insurance renewal is at the end of the month, i've received a very good quote from them, using an online comparison site like £130 3rd party fire and theft, which is nearly twice as cheap compared to the next competitor... and that's without the discount from here
Why are some exhausts louder than others?

They just sound awful!
As well the 125cc bikes with stubby exhausts, glorified lawnmowers!
Thats why I keep my baffle under the seat!
