Right now I got your attention I have been hunting high and low for some spiked nuts for my bike These were very popular in the late eighties/early nineties Gives the bike a bit of the Britsh Bulldog look. So far all I have managed to come across are the snap on caps they use for Hogs and Hog Wannabees or lightweight race replacements in various hues. Does any body know if you can still get them for the jap bikes and in particular my Suzuki GSX750? Cheers in advance Edit: hope this is the right place to post

So.............What Dya Fink?

Thanks guys Will give them a go Think Ill try the foam ones as my hearing isn't so good and if the plugs are too good I wont hear a thing. Any noise reduction has to be good from the point of view of saving what hearing I have left. Have always been reluctant to use any as I was concerned about safety and not knowing where the traffic is if I couldn't hear it. -

What about helmet sanitiser? Just a suggestion, never used it so i wouldnt know -
I was advised to use wax by my mechanic who does track days Reasoning You can apply it the night before you go out and it dries onto the chain so that you dont get the spray off of it all over your bike. Use daily if its raining and once a week in dry weather.

just what I was thinking Rennie Im a jeans person......always have been Bike gear has come a long way from the 80's and 90's Always a leather jacket (no armour in days gone by), gloves. Before return I used to wear steel capped 18 hole Doc Martens When I had my off last year it was at about 40mph I'd say by the time I was railroading the kerb, but I wasn't watching the speedo as I was concentrating on my landing in the bushes. Bike trapped my ankle, and if i wasn't wearing my Frank Thomas boots I'm sure I would have been taking a trip with a broken ankle in an ambulance. Even so, I'm pretty sure I chipped a bone, but it could have been worse. I'm also sure that the way I ride helped. I have the ball of my foot on the peg and tuck my foot well in and dont use my instep and poke my toes out like most I see. No damage to the jeans or my legs. -

After the "To buy or not to buy" thread I decided to buy a new lid today http://s715.photobucket.com/albums/ww15 ... New%20Lid/ Its a Fibreglass Marushin TNT with a Shivan Dragon on it Got it for £100 knocked down from £130 Been out most of the day putting it through its paces Its a bit lighter than my damaged FM which was thermolastic Much more of a snug fit, but it keeps folding my ears over when I put it on but after a little jostling and juggling about they magically ping back into place Very comfy and I had taken on board Korbens guide to buying Cheers Korbs some stuff in there I didnt check out when I bought the FM Not sure about the ear plugs although I was advised by my audiologist today to use em. Does any one else use em? Whats the best ones? Do they shut out all the noise? -

I drive/ride past the spot regular You can still see the scratch marks on the kerb I took a good long look and imagined where my head would likely be in relation to the scratching Looks like I only just missed a telegraph pole -

Lidl Bike Gear back.

Before I laugh, I would like to know the reason? Its all part of my master plan I bugged the wife so much about getting back on a bike that eventually she gave in saying Im a fully grown adult and she cannot tell me what I can or cant do Now I am working on convincing her that I can save enough money each month to run a second bike without increasing my outgoings So I got rid of the Landrover in favour of the skoda. Its newer, she loves it, halved the road funds, 580 miles per tank as apposed to 350 and insurance group 6 instead of 14 Give it a couple o' three months and Ill likely be looking for a GSXR Thou -

I've a couple of original & authentic AGV stickers that came with my lid and I have not used them. For you? Very cheap to stick onto your cheap lid. I'll do you a special offer And your making an offer like this to a man who drives a SKODA INCOMING!! *Running for cover* -

Lidl Bike Gear back.

Might just take a gander at the lids given that mine is bramble damaged and Im unsure now whether to continue using it or not. Not enough spare cash to buy a "branded" one with my current commitments and if its approved it'll do to keep me on the road at £40. Bit off topic but Can you get thermoplastic lids repaired? -
To buy or not to buy?
Jixerman replied to Jixerman's topic in Clothing, Luggage, Accessories and Security
Didn't hit anything Just kinda glided in slow motion through the brambles to a stop Lots of scratching noises of the thorns on the outersurface and the visor Its the gouge that Im not too sure about and wondered about it, given that the helmet is thermoplastic. Its only two year old Horness -
Hi I was reading through the thread about the £500 lid and it got me thinking. I had an incident a while ago now where I ended up in some blackberry bushes due to a taxi driver paying more attention (imo) to the young lady he had just picked up. I ended up pinned to the kirb by my ankle, which Im still not sure if it was cracked or chipped as I didnt get it checked out. To his credit the idot that caused my spill helped to remove the bike quickl followed by me throw profanities at him. Not helpful but justified in the circumstances. I didnt bang my head against anything that I was aware, wasn't knocked unconcious, just the unusual sensation of being rapidly slowed down by the brambles coupled with a slow motion view of them flying past the visor. Thanks to my attire no blood was spilt, though I was tempted to spill some of the taxi drivers not that Im a violent type person or condone such actions Anyway, I digress.............. Reading said tread I began to wonder if I should seriously think about replacing my lid. Up until now I have not had any issues with continuing to use it. http://s715.photobucket.com/albums/ww15 ... %20Damage/

Nice lid Like others fit is important The gold marking is the minimum standard a lid has to acheive to get it, but not sure on added protection. It may only be marginal. I have an FM which I had good deal on It is heavy but comfortable. I did get neck ache but I think that may have been due to the long break and not being used to the effects of high speeds on your head. It has venting which if you do not shut properly produces the most annoying resonance over 30mph. Took me over a week to figure that one out Having read through this thread I think Ill post a thread with some pics as Im am unsure if I should replace
