I drive for a living and wing mirrors are in constant use especially looking for those pesky cyclists who decide its a great idea to come up the nearside of a bus when they have a left indicator on And, predictably, those cyclists who filter up the nearside of a lorry or coach while coming up to a junction on the left and are then crushed as the vehicle turns left. But it's always the poor bus/lorry driver's fault and then we have the shrill demands for vehicles to be festooned with extra mirrors, cameras, etc. I just think of it as evolution in action. Same here I just don't understand ppl who don't use there mirrors .EVEN revresing I can't look over my shoulder I HAVE to use my mirrors .so when I'm riding my bike down a bus lane (which is green tarmac) and a cement mixer lorry decides to move to the left while I'm slap bang in the middle of the lorry finger on the horn while being forced in to the curb tying not be crushed .. So I don't understand why don't use there mirrors ... That's why I'm happy to smash them if they cut me up .. if your not going to use them I'll remove them for you ...

Not to sure .. I think I just used a rag . I'm getting a new one sat so I'll pop a set gloves on when I change it . Thanks .

I don't use me bike at night at all .. last night was the 1st in many months .. well the last time I used the lights the headlight bulb poped .so i fitted a new bulb . Then many months down the line (last night ) I went to pick up my son from his m8s so I used the bike .well about 20 to 30 mins in to the ride it went dark. With the street lights it was bit hard to see then went in to 60 zone no street light and.it.was.pitch black in front me so I put full beam on then for the next hour pissed as many cars off as.i could not dipping my full beam . 1st time the bulb went I thought it must been old and.on its way .. but this on iv never had it on more than 5 to 10 mins Just when I'm filtering then I turn it off ..as I don't ride with my.lights on(unless its.night time) so Question is why is it poping and how-to fix it or what I need.to check ... Cheers in advance ..

I'll give that a go . As iv found a round file so I can put the brush in a vice an file it a wee bit of a round end do you guys think I can cut the brushes a bit shorter with hack saw .. ?

I undone the 2 bolts and pulled the motor out then the brushes slot in and push the wee spring bits in then push the motor back in . Do the bolts up and try start it . Then depends on what brushes go in if it starts or not .

The bus driver refused to drive the bus the rest of the way to the school . I got a lift i did in the teachers car and dragged by the coller across the school car park right in to the headmaster office .the head was a mad bast*rd mad morgan we called him .. as the teacher told him what I did his face was going redder and redder i thought his head was going to pop like a vulcano .. then i got the cane across my arse an tops my legs . God it bloody hurt.. that was in 83 ..84 .. . The 1st Time I had the cane which was for the light bulb thing I was grassed up by a girl who didint know my name just that I was called.scotty from form 1. The only kid named Scot was in form 2 .. the head called out the names of all the boys he wanted in his office soon as he said Scotty form 1 the whole assembly turned and looked at me .. Scotty as Scottish not named Scot .. I was the last in line for the cane 6 or 7 others in there i was shiting my pants as he was working his way along the line to me odd thing i was so worked up time got to me it hurt but not like the 2an time . .

Over the the weekend i changed the staring motorbrushies on my CB750 .. .. as they was sticking .. . Push the starter and nothing happend so used a wee hammer to tap the starter while pushing the starter button . And the bike started .. So i was told its the brushies.. So taken them out .and one side it almost gone ...while the other side looks new . . So swapped them over nothing... even hitting the starting motor with a hammer and pushing the starter button . So swapped the new for old . Starts 1st time .. swapped them over again old for new . Nothing.. swapped them over again old ones back in starts...... It feels like the brushies are too long They are Honda parts .gave the dealer the bike reg to get the right ones . Now the one side is badly worn I have to change it but the bike won't start... I did think about cutting a bit off the brushes but they are not flat as the ends are rounded .. Can you cut these to make them fit .. but i shouldn't need to genuine parts ??? Any advice or help will be fantastic .. Also don't want to buy a new starting motor as they are not cheap .. prob same price As the bikes value now lol

Had a phone call today about the paint .. nothing wrong with it ????? So bugger back to square 1 .. well I asked the guy next door who does cars up and sells them . I told him what i did and he says as the mud guard was last to be painted Maybe there was a change in the temperature as that can affect the final paint job . ..So I guess it's that .

100% I just did that to day run out milk so i said I'll get.it . The shop is 10 mins away in the car . I went on the bike ... gone for 90mins lol .. one rule bike riding never go the str8 route .

100% as I have to say I find guys or gals on adventurer bikes dont nod back . I thought it was just me ..well I feel bit happier now . As said above don't let it bother you .. iv passed many bikes sitting in traffic who dont filter (never understand why not that's one the funs riding a bike )

I had the cane twice for throwing a florescent tube out school bus window at another school gang who our school bus had to drive thro to get to ours. 2an time after watching bevally hills cop 11 where you put chewing gum tin foil on the wire conrctors So you can open top deck emergency window . Didn't know the window on this bus went down not push up like we thought it pulled me out the bus window hit the downstairs back window right in front of a teacher in the car behind the bus .. .

Joeman I said the very same thing but the Mrs said just use the sew shop . Can't argue with the boss lol .. I does have poppers which you have to open and 're do as they are in the way or it would be just.stich it .the shop got a tool to fit poppers back on to the jacket .well she's got my jacket I'll see it next.week now .. I bought the zip its 24 inch and its YPK type . It's for biker jackets .. The jacket is 2an hand cost me £45 when I bought it to have it cleaned . And it looks brand new well looked after never been road rashed. It was made.to measure by a company in lond on way who specilies hand made custom leathers. For cops .MOD so on . So its having its.1st.metal zip .see how long it lasts .. cheers

My bro in law has one these on his bike .. and his had heated grips and its ok . As for the grip thing he swares by it .. but I don't like it as when we go out for rides if we on motorways he tends to ride one handed .which I think is mad . As we don't have the best.roads do we .. as i said he loves his ...

I like my biker jeans as I found when It was cold even tho the leather trousers was a.bit warmer they went all stiff and restricted my movement. Even chucking my leg over the bike .So jeans no probs also due to the armour they stop the cold .then I use the thermal unders. So legs warm and protected

By law you can't pick up any animals you have hit for food. Only a following car can.... Why would you want to eat somthing you or the next car has run over ..

Just been reading a news story (not sure why its news ??) In the sun . About a bloke in the USA who seen a squiral on his fence and it looked like it was stuck so he went to have a.look and was right it was stuck . .......... his fence panels went left to right with a small gap between . The squiral had ..... its bollocks caught between the fence panals the guy filmed the squiral trying to pull his nuts thro the fence but they are too big it only had to go back the way it came as it was about an inch across .the squiral was turning left an right trying to get free . OMG it look sore ...

Hi all . I have a 2an hand leather police motorbike jacket .. I had the zip replaced when I bought it .. I paid £40 to have a new zip fitted (the reason he was selling the jacket) I went to a repair shop who wanted £150.00 to replace the zip . So I went to Cardiff market and is a Chinese repair shop they charged me.£40 NOW the zip has broken again as it was plastic .as the shop I bought zip off asked what it was for As its 27 inch long they said I need to buy the plastic type so it won't scratch the tank .. The zip is covered by the jacket so I don't think it will .BUT if just resprayed the tank and don't want it scratched i do have a tank pad on the tank ... Also the zip teeth broke off and there is plenty room in the jacket so its not breaking due to.me.being a fat git lol ok I'm a fat git but the jacket is not too tight . There's enough room to put thermal under jacket thing on under it when it gets cold .. So I'm asking will a metal zip last longer as the plastic one lasted not even a year an 1/2 ..
