  1. Hi guys

Well booked my second track day of the year for last week, hoping for some dry weather to try out my new gixer at last, and we definately got some

Did it with Focused Events, booked in Inters, only to get there and be put in group 3...advanced/fast, whatever you want to call it, so wasnt happy (was because I'd done 6 track days before !!)...Hardly experienced eh !!

I'll hold me hand up though.....as its the best thing that could have happened

I had the best day on the track so far, came on leaps and bounds from last year

I shall now be in this group from now on

Here's a few pics and a bit of video I did, hope to see some of you guys at a track day this year

  3. Novice at the moment but I've booked myself in intermediates for the one I'm doing on 13th March so will see how that goes! :) You?

I'm in the inters, if you feel people are getting in your way too much in novice then move up, but dont feel its a bad thing to be in novice, its really all about where you feel comfortable

You'll find most people are in the correct group, however you always get a few of the following at track days

    1. In the novice group.......... purely so they can look a hero as they're the fastest on the track...and should be at least in inters

    2. In advanced/fast group.....purely because it makes them think they're fast and because the sticker on the bike and they're wrist band says so

My only goal/aim/target is to have fun.........and I always achieve that :D

  4. No worries Chris, there's plenty more of the year to go at

Got myself a few goodies over the winter...tyre warmers ,genny, and Ohlins steering damper (hell thats def needed now I'm pushing it that bit harder)

Spare wheels with wets too...after a washed out day at caddy last year

New Berik leathers,Arai lid, Alpinestars boots and gloves....and I wasnt going to spend much money on the bike this year ha ha

  5. Will do, although if its this year will propb be a last minute thing waiting for the weather etc

Yeah I was struggling to keep the front wheel down over the mountain, nearly ran out of track at one point ha ha when it had got down

Yes I've geared mine for acceleration and low top end so its only the new 1000's etc that can get past me on the straights, ....cos I hate that, then they get in ya way at the corners

  6. Rained all morning so didnt enjoy going out then and sat out one of the sessions, but dried up for the afternoon, so fun was had in the end

Nice to meet you Phil, prob bump into each other next year on the track

Good to see you too Vicki...where did you all go to after we chatted, had a look out for you after but couldn't see any of you ?

Hope you raised a few quid

  7. if you do another track day you will be looking at a track bike and a cheap road bike....

Not sure if that was aimed at me, but I do plan on doing plenty more track days. Thats the main reason I got my license.

Next year I plan to do at least 3, 4 including Ron Haslam school depending on what they're doing with the new track next year.

I can definately recommend a track school if you're new to riding

Trying to get a couple of mates that do track days but are, lets put it this way...rather steady, to do one of these as we feel it would bring them along quite a bit

  8. still in 2 minds to sell mine to fund a mint track bike tho

I've had a couple of those thoughts and only been riding 6 months :?

Don't think I would though, I quite enjoy a good ride out on the odd occasion.

Yes, I agree, I still want a bike on the road , but track days are so much fun I'll be spending next years "new" bike budget on a track bike, and will keep the RRV for the road

Its perfectly capable of providing me with plenty of smiles and its great knowing its there in the garage whenever I feel like a ride out

  9. Got me a new one to add to the collection

Love my AGV GP PRO, fit is awesome, very light and quiet, so been on the look out for a spare, but was wanting one a bit different, found this

Couple of the pics look like its got some stone chips on it ??

    How strange :?

  10. remember that 125 that was wasting a zx10 at cadwell vicki ?

    that was well funny

at oulton there was an rs250 killing everything....proper gp bikes had to be rebuilt after every session

he comes out in inters and flys past me and 2 others just after cascades

The BSB guys were practicing (obviously not officially) on my last track day at Cadwell, they were going out in the advanced group just before the front riders came over the mountain.....had lapped them all within 3 laps, and there was some quick guys out on the advanced group that day

Phil....check out Louth Bikes, they have some cracking track bikes, stolen recovered bikes only a coupld of years old that cant go back on the road, most have hardly any damage at all

They just strip the road gear sell that and put track fairings one etc

    Have quite a few for about 3k, CBR6's R6's Gixer 6's ,ZX6's, R1's etc etc
