  1. Quick update and it is user error. Would appear that there was crap in the tank. When it was put on reserve it fired up fine as it only happened when I was low on fuel my mistake as I was still getting used to how much a 600 uses compared to a 125 lol.

    Anyway thanks for the replies

  2. Insurance doesn't make any sense to me. My 125 cost 89 quid a year fully comp with 1 years ncb. My CBR costs 208 quid a year fully comp. So a bike with 10 times more power and 3 times the value only cost 120 quid a year more. I know it's not just about power and speed but it doesn't make sense.

  3. The wiring in Chinese bikes is horrendous. I had to rewire mine lots of cables fed other cables which in turn fed other cables. They use a very strange way to splice into cables which is twist the wires together then use a brass crimp to hold them together and a bit of tape. Might be simpler to buy a new loom from Chinese motorcycle parts on line. At least you'll have a good starting chance.

  4. Just been out on a ride, pulled up at a junction and bike stalled. Tried to restart her and the engine wouldn't fire up. Opens the choke and it starts up but as soon as I turn off the choke it dies. It was running perfectly up to the point it cut out any ideas. It's a 1998 Honda CBR 600 f3, 38k on the clock. Carbs were clean 409 miles ago but it was last year.

    Thanks

  5. Wind it out the aim is to have the bike level when loaded, you may need to increase tyre pressure too by a couple of psi :thumb:

No you don't , you wind it in to increase spring preload . I honestly would have thought that was obvious .

So I wind the spring in ?

  6. Quick question, had the misses on the back of my CBR600 and the back end is quite low. I know I will have to adjust the rear shock so do I wind the collar out to lengthen the spring or wind it in to make it shorter. I am of the opinion I wind it out but suspension is witchcraft to me.

    Cheers in advance

    Dave.

  7. Speak to a number of riding schools so you get a feeling for them. Some will be obvious non starters. Explain your worries and they should offer you an assessment/ taster. They should get you out on a bigger bike when you're ready and tailor your training to you. Personally I didn't find the step up from a 125 to a 600 that difficult. The size and power are obvious but bigger backs aren't as nervous or twitch on the road and are generally a lot more refined.

  8. Problem is no one will stand up to them. Just takes 2 or 3 lads to front them and give one of them a good hiding. Boils my blood things like this. I would have them clearing land mines the feral scum.

That elderly lady did . That surely cannot be the end of the matter . There is a camera in every aisle . These utter pigs must be prosecuted .

And fair play to her but other than the bloke that got hit no one did a thing. Sad reflection on society. Problem is there are too many do-gooders who'll make excuses for them.

  9. Ran a Lexmoto Arrow for 15 months. Had no problems and it was not a rust bucket. Sure not as refined as a Japanese bike but then it cost half the price. Few minor niggles but nothing major. Parts are cheap and as long as you regularly maintain it like you would any bike they're fine.

  10. Rehabilitation just does not work. The Courts are far too lenient and the police are hindered by do gooders that bleat on about the human rights of the offender. If you're given 3 years then you should do 3 years minimum. So if you're well behaved you do 3 years. If you don't you do longer. All prisoners should be made to study basic numeracy and literacy and be up from dawn till dusk being kept busy with education and training. No PlayStation's no sat in a cell doing nothing. I personally know of offended being released that are at a high risk of reoffending and refuse to give a release address to the probation service. How can this be right? Prisons should not be a place where you want to go back. The whole legal system is failing as a result of under funding and also because of so called human rights. The same human rights that are disregarded if you ever happen to be the victim of a crime.

  11. Have you had the speedo calibrated, there is a good chance that the sprockets have been changed, and the speedo will not give a true reading of your actual speed :thumb:

Isn't the Speedo connected to the front wheel and worked off revolutions ?
