Just called Bill SMiths in chester and they said about £150 but they cant do it untill the 16th, I'm goin away for a week next wednesday for a week so the wait isnt too bad. Is that a reasonable price? Tried the Honda centre but suprisingly they wont do a Suzuki, I also tried the place on Brooke street Sportster Motorcycles if anyone has hear of them but there was no answer ( I tried calling a few times!) Does anyone know of any where else in Chester i can get it done?

I don't have a haynes but my manual does tell me how to do it! its taken about 80 miles for that build up I had noticed it last week and gave then a clean! I think ill probably go to a garage and see how much they want! thanks for the help!

Hi, I need to replace the seals on my front forks and i had a couple of questions to ask before i do anything. How bad are they? do they need to be changed soon or is it something to put on my do do list for the next 2 weeks ? Am i better takin it to a garage and get some one else to do it (mainly coz i dont have any tools !) I was also thinkin that if i need to take off the front forks maybe now would be a good time to change the indicators i wanted to go for a few weeks ago but didnt coz of needin to take the forks off!

Anyone want to go for a ride nr Chester?
Mightycaz replied to Mightycaz's topic in North West Rideouts and Meets
I could do saturday night after work, im in, in Chester till 5:30 so if you think you'll be about after then i'd be more than happy to come meet up with you! If not I finish work at 4 on sunday!! -
The best thing about joinin the forces is they will teach you to drive a car and probably a bike so you may not ever get a geared 125 but just jump straight upto something bigger! A mate of mine joined the Army for 3 years and came out with car/bike, fork lift, HGV and tractor licences. He was well chuffed coz he loves bein able to say he can legally drive anything with an engine (unless it flies!).

I finish work in an hour and its such a nice day i wanna go out for a ride. My mate was supposed to come with me but he forgot hgis MOT ran out on wednesday so doesnt want to go out in case he gets pulled and takes a 3 point hit on his licence, So if anyone wants to go out for a bit tonight then gimme a shout!! -
Heres mine I wanted one with a tinted visor but this oine has a button on the top which brings down a pair of sun glasses inside the visor ( a bit like a fighter pilots helmet does) I was sold as soon as i saw that!

I really like those boots, I got the plain black HG boots when i got all my gear ( didnt want anything too sporty for a cruiser) and also they were alot cheaper at just £60!

how many times dd it take you ?
Mightycaz replied to gareth's topic in CBT, Test and Advanced Training Information
Ive never understood this on test's, My missus failed her forst car test coz someone cut her up at a roundabout and she had to slam on the anchor's. Surley if its someone else's fault and you survive/don't have an accident or completely avoid the moron in a car then you should pass with flying colours due to the fact you were aware enough to see the hazard coming and also have the skill to avoid it? -
Speakers for my helmet
Mightycaz replied to RiffmasterII's topic in Clothing, Luggage, Accessories and Security

Online theory 'mock test'
Mightycaz replied to a topic in CBT, Test and Advanced Training Information
I have a few issues with this practise test, 1) One question was about the total % of carbon emissions produced by automobiles, What does this have to do with riding safely/ to the required standard? 2) One question asks what you should do when parking on the road side, I put leave the parking light on but the correct answer is to engage your steering lock, again what does this have to do with the standard of riding safely 3) Motor vehicles can harm the environment. This has resulted in: Again what does this have to do with riding? Im not really havin a moan about this sort of stuff but i just cant understand why these questions are asked would you fail a car driving test if you forgot to lock the doors when you leave it or didnt know what the carbon footprint of your car is? If anyone can tell me why these are here then fair enough but i cant see any reason behind them! -
motorbike boots problem
Mightycaz replied to pinki-88's topic in Clothing, Luggage, Accessories and Security
I had the same problem on my CBT, i blame the gap between peg and gear lever being too small for my man feet and boots as the reason i failed first time around, my cruiser has got a shed load of clearance between peg and lever tho so no problems now!! -
Speakers for my helmet
Mightycaz replied to RiffmasterII's topic in Clothing, Luggage, Accessories and Security
I thought it was illegal to ride with headphone is as you cant hear the traffic around you? Surley once your all closed off inside your lid with a set of headphones in you will be completley cut off from everything going on. Dont get me wrong every time i go out for a ride i wish i could listen to some Machine Head but it just seems too risky for me. Maybe that will go with time and more exp! -
What size laptop will it fit? Ive been looking for a decent water proof bike bag for my laptop (it cost almost the same as my bike !) if itll fit a 15.4" laptop then i might go ahead and order one of these!

Damn, there is nothing really wron with the origanals ones other than a little scuff on one side presumable where someone has dropped it in the past. Oh well at least i didnt buy new ones and find out i cant fit em! cheers for the help anyway.

Hmm dont know why that pic is at the end of the post

if you looking towards the 1800 intruder, then think about the new V-Max thats out.... uuum, i go custom for that... bit too sporty lookin for my taste, but still a very good looking bike, its not all about speed for me i just really like the way the Intruder looks. The fact it is a monster waiting to be unleashed to 160mph is just coincidence! Back to the indicators now, i had a bit of a look today and took some photo's ( i didnt even need a spanner frankie, just a phillips screwy!) Rear Indicators I take it i need to replace the whiole thing including the spacer at the end, can i then use the same spacer on any of the lights posted above? what would that bracket be called? mayaswell change that for a nice chrome one while im at it Front Indicators will the new ones just attatch to the rubber bracket on the forks? I hope the pics help just dont wanna go an buy a load of stuff to find it doesnt work an then have to get more stuff to make it work, the missus would mither me no end about wastin money im gonna go out for a pointless ride now since ive been thinkin about my bike now!
-
I am indeed planning on going bigger, just want to get some more hours clocked up before goin for my test, have been lookin at the Shadow (850cc) and the 800 maurauder. My dream bike is the Suzuki M1800r Intruder http://www.bikes4sale.in/blog/suzuki/in ... uder-1.jpg . Might have to wait a while for one of those though!
-
Thanks mate, I seriously thought about makin you an offer on your maurauder a couple of weeks ago when my bike was broken, then it was fixed and then it was broken again ( a few electrical faults stopping it from starting) Its all fixed now otherwise i think i would have bought yours!

Thanks, they have their own Amazon store so i might give them a call and see what they say. Only reason i wanna get them from amazon is i get vouchers for almost anywhere as commission (dont have to pay any tax on gift vouchers, gets me about an extra £1000 a year!!) thanks for all the help again.

Get the spanners out and take one off, you'll see that the indicator is a 4 part unit.. lense, bulb, mounting and rubber.. the stalks aren't interchangeable,.. PM Cruz, he's a custom man, and should be able to give you more advice.. Ok ill give it a go tonight and see how this is all gonna fit, the biggest problem with buyin thigs off the interweb is you cant have a good look at it to see how it all fits together! ill post an update probablyon wednesday as i have a day off so will have enough time to look properly!
