  1. the screw holding my pillion seat on was a right knut to get out too, an intruder so same design for holding the seat on! I just spentan hour just getting one screw out, little pressure, little tap with a hammer, little squirt of WD40 and repeat..... don't take it to a garage tho, get yourself a tap and die kit from a tool shop and a harder small drill bit, tell the person you buy it off what its for so you can get one that'll drill through a screw! might take a good few hours but it'll save you money and hopefully a get you out of a bollocking from you dad!!!
  2. 5th is your cruising gear, keep it in 4th to about 50 or until it sounds like its gonna blow up. My intruder does the same thing....
  3. its a great feeling to rip off them L plates isn'tit! well done mate!!
  4. haha! your right! if Phil can put some one info up before tomorrow I'll see if any of my mates are up for a eat trip since I am off!!
  5. Was thinkin the same thing till I googled it! http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=d&sourc ... e=UTF8&z=8 Maybe when your closer.. you should put posts in the ride outs for different areas when you go on your track days Phil
  6. Love the feelin of new stuff. I gots me a pair of draggin jeans too, worth every penny. Suprisingly they are really good at keeping the wind out! and when walkin round town when out an about they look very good too and are much more comfortable to boot!
  7. 10 years old and only done 17,500 miles. A few chips on the paint work but is in very good condition for its age, Bill Smiths offered me top book price for it as a part ex so it shows how good nick its in!
  8. I have one!! I love it! Wanna buy it? I passed my test today so am looking to buy a new bike!
  9. Lookin good dude, I wish I had the space to store something like this. Can you cut 1 of the arms off the rear swing? or will the frame not be strong enough? I love the looks of bikes with only 1 swing arm!
  10. Why would it cost you £80 a month? All i'm saying is in another post you said it cost you £380 to buy and you've already spent £245 and now it needs another new part.
  11. How much did this cost you? I know you said not to slag off the topic with hate but you have spent quite a bit on it already, Might be worth cutting your losses before it comes a real problem......
  12. I'm pretty sure you only need 1 mirror but I could be wrong, someone else will elaborate later I'm sure! have you checked amazon? there are quite a few bike stores on there that seem to have a good selection!!
  13. You can get a bum bag type thig for spare visors, but its shaped like a visor so dosent make you look gay! And yes they look very good, but I suppose the reason they are not in sale in EU yet is because they are probablu not road legal......
  14. What date is your test? I've booked mine for the 18th. One thing I have been wondering is if you put a foot down on the U turn in the MOD2 do you still fail even though you have already been tested on that in the MOD1? If so it kinda makes the MOD 1 a complete waste of time and money!
  15. I had my off on the MOD 1 because I tried to look at the speedo when doing the swerve, not enough time to look down, read the speed and look up to then start to swreve. I ended up turning the bars and jacknived it!! My instructor told me to have faith that the tyres would stick on the next go and just give it beans, which I did to pass I'm sure youll be fine on the next go!!
  16. Yeah £150 is very steep, I paid £40 to re take my MOD 1 when I failed and that included bike hire.
  17. Why do they spoil a nice black bike with a fecking pink stripe? If there was one in all black it's be a null question because I'd get that, Gonna go to a few dealers and see if anyone has any of the new ones in yet or know when they will have. I've seen the old one (sat on it a few times too!) so I know I like that one but can't decide on the new one till i've seen it in the flesh so to speak.
  18. Thats why I am lookin at these, because I dont just want to get a bandit. From everything I've read they have a bandit frame and feel with the exitment of a GSXR (just without all off the extra stupidly fast bits)
  19. £700 will be more than enough to get gear!!! as for the DAS like Dan said about £500 is the benchmark i think, I paid for mine in bits as I did it but failed the mod 1 so had to shell out another £40 to re do that again. If you have ridden before you can probably skip a few of the lessons before doing your test so might work out a bit cheaper... Oh and sign up to this, http://www.4theride.co.uk/ there are loads of good deals on there.
  20. Heya, I booked my test for the week after next so I am starting the search for my first real steed, I've pretty much got my heart set on a GSX650F. There are some very good deals goin on at the moment with Suzuki on 0% finance over 3 years, so it is affordable and gets some pretty good reveiws as being "just a bandit with a pretty coat" which is fine with me as I like faired bikes and as everyone says, You can't go wrong with a bandit for a first bike! Now the real dilema is that there is a new model out which is exactly the same exept it has a new two tone paint job. Should I wait a month and get the new one or go with the old one?? or the new one

was gonna come in and suggest something but I dont think i'll bother since everything has been suggested so I will use this as a shamless post count boost!! Welcome to TMBF!
  22. I don't think it matters about the paint on the lid in this case as they won't be used other than as a canvas. Your right about the paint ruining it tho, same as fairy liquid.... Edit: Did't tell me ppl had repied when I hit send
  23. Gutted mate, I hate waiting at lights to filter. Sometimes you go and other times you wait for the lights. Seems a bit harch to fail on that, Best of luck for next time!
  24. Well how did it go? Its just started to snow round here, hope you get it done before this weather catches up to you!!
  25. Well done, both of you. I am still waitin till I have a spare £250 so I can book mine, not good to try to do these things just after Christmas!
