  1. Im not really havin a moan about this sort of stuff but i just cant understand why these questions are asked would you fail a car driving test if you forgot to lock the doors when you leave it or didnt know what the carbon footprint of your car is?

They are based on the set of questions used by DSA in live tests, so blame them for the obscure ones :P

I find this site easier to use http://www.2pass.co.uk/theorytest.php?t=2 but the occasional car question crops up in the motorcycle test, unless motorcycles are now fitted with a "gas pedal"

Got my theory test on Tuesday, so I hope these practices are working!

  2. BOGOF, if it seized when hot, then freed itself when cold it would still try and crank..

Thanks. Realised that but got confused cos he said it HAS seized, which I took to mean that it still IS seized.

My brain works too literally sometimes :P

  3. Yes it turns over, it speeds up at times an just seems like its waiting to kick in but just doesnt!
The engine has actually seized :( Must have a dodgy wire as me oil light never lit up but normally does! Does it have to be replaced or can i lube it up and just refit?

I'm confused. If it turns over, then surely it cannot be seized.

  4. I had assumed (maybe wrongly) that if the clutch plates were worn to excess, that you would lose drive, as in a car, 'cos the clutch would slip?

And I didn't realise you could adjust at both ends, so maybe a quick read of Haynes is in order :P

  5. Have noticed over the last few days that my clutch needed adjusting as there was a lot of slack at the lever. After adjusting it was OK for a few days then needed it again which seemed odd.

Tonight I had no adjustment left and still had slack at lever. Then gradually I seemed to lose clutch so that eventually even with the lever all the way in the engine was still engaged, which makes stopping tricky and waiting at lights hazardous! Got round it by stalling, selecting neutral, loads of revs and drop it into gear (managed an accidental wheelie as a result which got a strange look from a biker going the other way :P )

Not sure if it makes a difference but its an Aprilia RS125.

    Any ideas?

  6. Got it - I thought a rivet link was called a split link too...

I do have a continuous chain in the garage, not too sure what to do with it.

Trade it in for a blunt knife so you too can castrate basta*ds :P

  7. Aprilia RS 125 -- derestricted it is capable of 100+ mph, although fuel consumption is crap and reliability can be a problem.

Insane acceleration at 7k rpm though, so its not all bad
