This happens to me sometimes,it seems that my pinlock moves slightly down when i handle my lid, breaking the seal. So if it starts to steam up, i just open my visor and push it back into position and it seems to work

Clothing questions .. Price vs quality etc
Stephen replied to Danny-B-'s topic in Clothing, Luggage, Accessories and Security
Personally i would never buy kit off ebay, especially helmet as you have no idea of the history of the products. Regarding helmets - all helmets sold in this country have to pass certain safety tests, so in some respect they all can provide a certain level of protection. However, they do not show which helmets far exceed the testing requirements and which just scraped by. I wouldnt spend less than £200 ish for a helmet to get a good quality one, that fits well and i like. I also prefer the well known names, as their are well known and well trusted for a reason. After all, would Motogp stars wear Arai/Shoei/Nolan etc if they werent going to do their job and protect them in the event of a crash? -
Textile or leather?
Stephen replied to YamahaWolf's topic in Clothing, Luggage, Accessories and Security
I own leathers and textiles. I use my textiles for commuting due to the unpredictable weather and the fact i can get my normal clothes underneath. I wear my leathers when im just going out biking in the dry, warm weather -
National Motorcycle Museum - 23 August

I could probably make this, just in my area lol. Depending on weather. I might be going next week with my mate too! -
I'm sure Hopkins used to do this in GP too, I believe he had elbow scrapers too. Well Lorenzo got his elbow down at Donnington too, just as he was sliding across the tarmac lol. Pretty impressive sparks from his elbow!

The way i was taught was that you check both sides when pulling away from a junction or traffic lights. But at roundabouts only a left shoulder check when entering the roundabout and another when exiting - checking the space you are going to be moving into. Whats happening on you right side isnt as important as thats not where you should be going Oh and question 2, I tend to stay more towards the centre of the road behind lorrys and slightly further back as it gives them chance to see me, not sure what you SHOULD be doing though

i thought most bikes had dipped beam on at all times, to help you be seen. All bikes i've seen recently are like this. The switch is just to change to full beam when it's needed

Visors Rules???? Need Help
Stephen replied to a topic in Clothing, Luggage, Accessories and Security
I'd love to get an iridium visor for my lid, but the legality issues put me off a bit. How do u think a light tinted visor combined with a light tinted pinlock insert would be against the sun, and in the eyes of the law? -
I'm in Coventry too!!

Stephen replied to Bill_on_a_bike's topic in Clothing, Luggage, Accessories and Security

Forcefield and Knox both do versions of a protective vest, but both offer level 1 protection. whereas the Alpinestars vest is level 2, that 1 of the reasons for preffering it -
