Honda CD250 fuel tank noise
painter replied to painter's topic in Old Motorbikes, Projects and Restorations
I had one of these , I'm pretty sure it didn't have a fuel gauge. Aye you're right, no fuel gauge. -
Hey guys, I've just got a £400 Honda CD250U as a fixer-upper, and I'm pretty happy with it so far, although it's now got a weird noise that seems to be getting worse. It sounds like a wire or something metallic tapping on the underneath of the fuel tank intermittently mostly when accelerating, although I can't see loose wire, and it's not regular enough to be something loose. It's like a cross between a tapping, scraping and clicking if that makes any sense? Also can hear it if I take a speed bump a bit too liberally, as the bike's coming back down? To the untrained ear (this is my first bike!) it seems like it's when the bike pulls away and bits might be moving about and scraping maybe? It's kind of hard to describe, just wondering if someone has had something like this before... Cheers!
