  1. So yesterday I took the bike out for its first real spin. Before that, though, I dropped into the motorbike shop where I'd bought it. Thought I'd get some maintenance bits and bobs. Anyway, as I parked up in the forecourt, I lost balance and dropped the bike to the right. Staff rushed out to help me. Was SO embarrassed that I didn't even go into the store, just mumbled something about the camber of the forecourt and not being used to the weight yet, before they left me to sort myself out and I just got back on and left. Anyway, now I'm feeling stupid and can't even face going back there!
  2. Not quite sure what on earth is going on here but it sounds fun. 40 if it's available please
  3. Only a tiny break, a little fragment pulled off by ligament. Nothing as awful as yours, thank God!!!
  4. How are you guys able to keep chargers attached permanently to your batteries... access to mine appears to require removal of the seat....
  5. Thanks all! The fall was not bike related, but that's what everyone is assuming!
  6. So, I picked up my bike on Monday! Then I tried to start it on Tuesday, and it wouldn't start. So back it went. Got a new battery installed, got it back on Wednesday! Fell down outside my front door, broke my thumb. Got surgery next week and will be in a cast for the next 6. FUN. In the meantime, should I get some kind of battery charger to keep it in good condition? How do they work, would I have to trail a power cord outside to my driveway?
  7. Buying a used Kawasaki ER-6F. 2007, 16K on the clock, a nice bright blue. Really happily, I have a very local motorbike shop/garage who, although there's a few more ££ on the ticket than for a private sale, offer their own 12 month mechanical warranty on anything they sell. They're also putting a brand new MOT on it. So excited!!
  8. Don't think I can hang around! There should be enough good dry days to make it worth it
  9. Got my mod 2 this week, and I'm looking forward to becoming a biker! However, we're obviously on the cusp of winter. Worst months here in Scotland tend to be Feb-Mar. Got a car so not looking to depend on a bike for commuting. Should I buy a bike now, or after winter? If now - what do I need to know in terms of basic maintenance skills? I don't have a garage, it'll live on a driveway or just off it on the roadside.
  10. Passed my Mod1 today - second attempt. Phew, glad that's over and done with! Absolutely chucking down with rain so that was fun.
