I’m in south Leicestershire, tend to go out with Midland Motorbikers group on Facebook when I can. They usually start ride outs from Coventry mind you but That’s the same distance as Leicester city centre for me.

I’ve been craving a super sausage for weeks now, really need to get down. Need to go on a weekday by looks of it though as it’s always rammed at the weekend!

Rode up to Boston via market harborough, Melton, Grantham, then stopped for a crap coffee at sports bike shop, then headed back to Leicestershire via Stamford, Oakham, Melton.
God knows why anyone has a bike in Lincolnshire. Speed cameras absolutely everywhere! Saying that, there was a van on the b4067 near market harborough on the way back, had to have a sensible day for the most part!

Dropped it in for its service at Kawasaki. On about 6700 miles or so I think but was due a service so just told them to do the 7500 mile service. Goodbye £300 that’s on top of the £150 tyre last week
£300? Is it a valve job?
This is the UK where we get raped of our hard earned! £300 including a valve service
At least double that
Haha nope was a ‘bigger’ service. Think it’s because they replace spark plugs and they’re a bit of a pain to access maybe. £294 all in. (This was a Kawasaki main dealer too hence structured pricing)

Looks like a good ride out. If I ever manage to get up to my parents on the bike for a weekend I might have to steal some of those routes
Where do they live? some members could suggest some routes to take
They are over in filey, so plenty of routes to choose from!

Did you ride the B6047? Cracking road that, plenty of fast sweeping bends
6047 - out to Lincs, down to Stamford, off to Uppingham, back on the B664 (for my money far better than the 6047 - but shhhhh) where I got serious air over a humpback bridge, and then home.
120 miles of smiles.
Yes must admit the 664 is brilliant too and slightly more technical (not to mention less travelled). I think I know the bridge you’re talking about too

Tried fitting some new LED Sequential indicators to the bike today. Thought it was going well until I tried them and they didn’t work. Tried swapping the wires around and still didn’t work. Then ended up blowing the fuse on my alarm which didn’t stop going off. Luckily they taped another fuse to it so I could swap it.
Not sure if the wires were not connected correctly and that’s what’s blew it or because the alarm is wired to the indicators and LED is not the same voltage
Standard indicators back on and no smaller plate still. About ready to get rid of this bike, alarm causes nothing but problems for me.

A nice little run around Warwickshire , Oxfordshire and Worcestershire . Banbury , Edge Hill , Ettington , Moreton in Marsh , Broadway , Stratford upon Avon , Wellesbourne and back home to Coventry . The bike is purring now that I've put some baffles in that give a bit of back pressure and the new tyres are a joy compared to the old ones .
Was out and about that way today myself, though carried on down to Burford and then Cirencester and back up via Fish Hill. More bikes than cars on the road today

Rode it, finally! Tested out my new Alpinestars leather jacket too. Very impressed!

They’re sounding confident that the season will start in w couple months, but behind closed doors all year. Better than nothing!

Looking at reading my Z650 in and this is top of my list at the minute. Really need to get out and test one once we’re allowed out!

Well back on topic, I opted for a plastic grid base. Hopefully be here soon so will update everyone once it’s down & also when I order the shed and get that up. Might be a month or two yet though as I’ll need my friend to come over to help put the shed up!

Much tidier, if time is an issue and money is not then I can see why you would get someone in, if on the other hand time is not an issue I really would consider doing it your self.
The quality of work I see on a regular basis is getting worse and worse, from so called reputable local companies too.
I’m on furlough at the moment, so time is not an issue. Just seems to be quite a large undertaking. I guess I could always try with a shed base first and putting some slabs down for that. That and trying to source everything I need in the current climate seems to be a pain!

I ordered a bulk bag of gravel for our front, I started sorting this out about a year ago, ended up hating the bit of slate I put down and then just left it until now. Just waiting for some small shrubs and a small feature plant to finish it off.
Before & after. Before is top of course. Next project
Will be to look at getting a patio done in the back garden approx 18m2 and also a shed. But probably get someone in to the patio so that’ll be after lockdown!

Ah yeah I see. Think they’re slightly different to the ones I saw online but same sort of thing!

The plastic crates with pea shingle are ideal I have done driveways and parking bases with them.
Once full of shingle they are suprisingly robust and have the added bonus of being very free draining.
In a perfect world cut these into the turf so they are level with the grass and once filled put a wooden shed floor on bearers on the top.
Yes you will have a small threshold step but you will be able to find things easier if you drop them (Don't ask me how I know and how I know how much replacement forklift keys are !).
Cheers
Ian
Thanks for that, I was planning to dig down so the top of the base is level with the grass so should be fine on that front. I think I was just worried about it sinking but I imagine it should be alright!

My polytunnel/shed base is 18mm OSB3 been down 2 years has been soaked through most of this last winter, has 2 bikes sat on it and is still in one piece, no signs of delaminating or rot
The base for the entire shed is?!? or just the floor of the shed? I’m on about the base for the whole
Shed to sit on

Right so you to now my bike has lived outside, anchored to the house. I don’t want to go through another winter with it outside as I don’t think I’ll be as lucky as we were this winter (not very cold and no snow) again.
I need to get a base put in place. It will be going in the corner of the garden (currently grass) and need to decide on a base. I’ve ruled out a wooden base seeing as the bike will be going in and concrete is a no as well, so it’s either slabs or one of those plastic base kits you fill with pea gravel.
Has anyone used one of the plastic bases before? It’s my preferred option as it’s much less hassle but not sure if it would hold well, especially if it’s laid on dirt (levelled out of course). The shed will probably be 6x8 if that makes a difference
Quadlock with vibration dampeners

Problems are mostly with iPhone 11. Really sensitive camera stability components so one ride and the camera will have had it. This new vibration dampener apparently resolved the issue so I’ll definitely be testing it out when I order one
