  1. Naa pal tbh we are amicable for the most part she is just scared of motorbikes, I have been riding for for alot of years now until met me ex and this week I bought me daughter the lid due to her age now and summer coming up plus she wants me to buy her a kids motorbike 50cc, me and the ex just grew apart was one of them things, had been together for many years, but I sold the bike when got with her then when broke up got meself another as been germany and alsorts on em when was in the army and also used to do stunts on motorbikes for the army as recruitment,im a competant safe rider most the time... Defo with me lil girl on! But to show respect asked her to come to mine tonight to settle her mind into it, as she likes jumping to conclusions on stuff she knows nout about and she does worry alot! Have looked into this alot and in our heath and safety country am sure if it was that dangerous more then out else it would be banned upto say 16yo! Just seeing what the biker community think on it as you folks have experience and know the ride.
  2. Haha aye would be a way to go save alot of mider! As for tge helmet its a kids motorbike helmet sized to her head so proper deal fits perfectly and she will have gloves that fit perfectly. I personally just think people see a motorbike and think dangerous as they dont understand em, people are always afraid of what they dont understand.
  3. My 10yo daughter loves my motorbike but the mum hates it because she dont ride, my daughter wants to go on the back of it feet touch rear pegs easily with peg to spare and if she wears a lid and gloves only going in 20-30mph roads I cant see the issue with it meself. The mother (my ex) says no she aint going on it end off but I dont ask for permission just trying to keep the peace but set boundaries, yet the mother would be happy with her to go on a horse, wild animal that could buck at anytime, in many countries they have kids on motorbikes and even 5yo+ racing on em, whats you opinion on it and it is just due to britain not being a big biker nation and we are too reserved in this country. Could get killed crossing the street, eating food, walking down stairs, on a plane, boat etc... What are your thoughts?
  4. Depends on what you want to do on the road, tourer for comfort and the ride with sights also Luggage if you really haul alot. Superbike for speed and corners, my preference is superbike as I love leaning off bike at speed around corners and the look of them tbh, im 35 and never felt back pain etc, just plan ye stops and enjoy, been to Germany and back sooo many times on my gsxr1000 and kawasaki ninja 636, never felt like wanted a tourer or needed more then a backpack can carry, plus filtering with boxes on sounds risky to me, like being nimble and thin.
  5. Sounds good pal, see how many are thinking of attending and hopefully weather holds!
  6. On my 600 the insurance for a year is on £183 but that also covers my bloots gloves lid and leathers! Thats shocking for just a 125, could it be your location maybe?, im with Hastings Insurance.
  7. Ye mate just motorways cant use but tbh if your riding a motorbike go for the A roads, more bends and better views and more engaging
  8. how Far ye thinking from say Southport, Merseyside
  9. haha ye same pal, just wish me frame was black aswel currently got a gold link chain on that will be goig black once worn out
  10. Siezed the chain damn! Always been a fan of wd40 products, use there lube was looking at there wax
  11. As the title says folks whats your opinion on the best for our country? Always used lube but thinking about wax as doing a full deep bike clean and service soon and want best
  12. Update: the gsxr 1000 k3 rectifier has fixed the problem bike runs smooth as a babys backside now Size difference....
  13. Was wondering if I order a new rec actually for my bike will tgat sort it you think as this is such a common problem I cant see replacing the rec with the same lousy oem on will sort issue, unless they have updated the design for the Honda Cbr600f 1999? My has no fins in it and is basically a flat smooth square? Or do I go the suzuki route and get a well designed one and snip wires... Hhmmmm
  14. Ye mate its in the tail fairing, and when its hot and idles it cuts out then, usually starts straight away but then cuts out shortly after starting again unless start moving off, looking at picking up a gsxr1000 rec and putting it on as there compatible just have to cut wires as the connectors dont match and alrdy have the colour code to match wire to wire, suzuki one double size of this honda one and apparently sorts issue others have dont that and it worked will have a go of that meself and see if it sorts it, 1999 and below recs are bloody aweful so will see i this squares it away only £30 too which is good, will keep ye posted ta pal
  15. Managed to sort alot meself now but curious can I put a 1000cc rectifier on a 600cc?as guessing they all run 12 volt so not like it should do harm? Ta
  16. Fozzie if you can move mine to another location and install a fan will sort ye out, ill take tank off etc and fairings so just be the wiring part and attaching it to frame somewhere else and install the fan im off for a week and ye only 30 mins away so can coller parts and come yours if ye free, thats if you think the current rec will work after these mods?
  17. Mine is located on the frame to the rh side panel next to the oven, so bloody toasty in there she works fine idle for ages, even when upto temp, but seems to be after a 30 min ride then she gives up when it comes to moving slow again, the temp drops alot when moving above 40mph so all good there just dicky charging system me thinks, wonder if I extend the wire and move it somewhere else then the current OEM rec will be fine? Save me £50 What ye think? Or is it just the bad OEM rec that after a while of high speed riding etc and filtering she dont give enough charge for bty to keep fan and bike etc running and no matter where I out the rec she will fail? What fan did you use for ye rec pal and you near Southport by any chance could let you have a gander, I will do the travel mind haha
  18. Ye six same issue on this one, Bty is fine but after a ride out the Rec didnt return enough to keep bike running and power for fan, lights etc, £50 for the rec from the gsxr1k just need to make sure the wires are waterproof when join em up now and hopefully thats sorted.
  19. yep new bty and plugs all tests come back perfect, just on the meter when fan kicks in the volts drop... so thats me issue not enough power produced by the OEM lousy Rec to keep bike alive when fan is spinning hard... so I have to by a 2003-2004 GSXR1000 rectifier and cut ends off and solder em onto existing wires, apparently the GSXR rec is twice the size and works alot better, just need to buy some CPU heat sink grease and the Rec tomorrow from scrappies (Hillsmotors in skem)
  20. not that I know off pal, have had the full loom taken out and checked and replaced, also all mechanical parts inside and out are clean and in working order, all works, think it may just be the lousy OEM rectifier they put on these bikes back in the day, also the carbs are all clean and the jets sorted, it generally stalls at idle on a hot day like today when the engine is piping and the fan comes on.
  21. so looked on the net and seems to be rather common but no real evident fix that i can see, alot of people say the Rectifier on this model aint good and if you replace it with one from say a 2003-2004 GSXR1000 then it will sort the issue... At lights on a hot day the bike fa will come on and the idle will start to splutter and drop then bike stalls, riding and moving around at 30+ is fine no issues at all just rly at idle the bike fan comes on and it all stals out, i changed the indicators and brakelights to led to give the fan more power and the bike to run at idle more power to work with but its still happening. anyone had this issue on bikes like this and had a good fix? may just be the Rectifier but its £56 for the one i have seen recomended that may solve the issue but dead money if not.
  22. could be a interesting ride out if a fair few wanna go, could arrange seperate meets depending on where y'all from
