  1. Hi folks! Someone has mentioned on other bike-related website that DVLA have sample routes for each test centre published somewhere on their website, can't find them though - has anyone ever seen them ? Thanks
  2. it doesn't and thats why i think it is too hot
  3. Anyone knows what is the ok temperature for CG125 ? I've put 5W40 full synthetic oil in and I kinda think that the engine is now getting quite hot, as in hotter than before ? Any hints ?
  4. Just replace it. I have done that on my 125 and happy 100%. Totally worth it. it took 10 minutes to do.
  5. Ok. I've put everything back as it was... Clutch lift shift looks ok and feels quite resisting again, so I guess we are back to normal... What was it ? I suspect that old clutch cable might be at fault here too - so I'm getting it replaced... Could the reason be the lack of oil as I had just 1 litre of oil in there instead of 1.1 as it says on CG125 spec ? Anyway, will be putting new oil into engine and cable replacement would be the other task for tonight... At the very least I now know how the clutch looks like and how it works Right. Everything is back in place, clutch cable has been replaced, new oil is in... Still not sure if 1 litre is enough ? The oil level stays between marks on dipstick though... Anyway, bike started first time (well, not quite as I had emergency button pressed). Everything looks ok, I'll take it for a test ride tonight

  7. totally, but they say that if you don't check then some numpty may go and collide with you... but I think if there are numpties there, shouldn't I just give up motorcycling completely ?
  8. Here you can get some ideas: http://hxxp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=81I_WJXTG0Q. Change xx to tt
  9. Welcome. It takes time but don't give up ! I'm sure here you'll find lots of interesting information about CBT and people experiences
  10. On my last MOD2 attempt I : Didn't do a lifesaver once, Didn't look over shoulders I think twice Used indicator too early once and didn't use it properly another couple of times All-in-all failed the test (no wonder) this is all due to nerves had I not wobbled while stopping up-the-hill, it could have been soo much different... Maybe Some say that there are examiners who just do the job ticking the bloody boxes in a light-green coloured sheet, the other ones assess you as a rider... I suppose you can ask your instructors what sort of examiners you have down there ??? but to answer your question - technically, lifesaver is a serious fault - so it is a fail. Look over your shoulders - another one - so is a fail too, cancel indicators is the major one - so definitely is a fail. But again - some examiners may allow you to get away with one of those - if your overall riding technique is up to their level of "acceptable rider"...
  11. Ok. i have decided to open the crankcase cover. Got the oil out of engine. Opened the cover. Everything seems in right place all nice and shiny.... The clutch lifter mechanism is fine, the spring is fine too... It was actually returning the lever back, but that clutch lifter spring is not that strong, so I couldn't feel any resistance from clutch lifter plate springs. Anyway, I'm wondering, if I push the lifter plate in (as clutch lifter would do), am I supposed to see clutch disks go apart ?
  12. Hi everyone. Just off my bike. It broke. The clutch isn't there, it is very very light and can't feel any resistance when squeezing the clutch lever, the cable is ok, I can see that it actually turns the clutch thing on the engine itself...it just happened when I was changing gears I have managed to start it in neutral and then just started rolling it and pressed it into first gear as clutch was of no use ... Managed to get home in first gear all the way... Anyway, can anyone suggest what that could be before I open the clutch part of that engine ? Thanks
  13. I have not seen a single person riding a bike like they did it on Module 2 test, and I disagree that you have to ride like a stunt rider in a car park for Module 1, not even close TBH. But again this is IMHO.
  14. Mod 1 is nothing to worry about really, especially considering the price (£15) in comparrison to Mod 2 (£75)
  15. Yes, just wondering what acceptable delay would be between lifesaver and the actual action ? I just can't get it. Say, if you are at roundabout waiting for traffic to pass, here is an opportunity, so you do a lifesaver and you guess what ? more traffic comes... well, that situation can last forever. Opinions ?
  16. I don't get one thing - how people report that they passed Module 2 easily with a few minors and compare it to Module 1 saying that nothing worried them about Mod 2 unlike Mod 1... Surely there is more areas to fail at in Mod 2 in comparrison to Mod 1 ? Just a single missed lifesaver is a serious fault...
  17. Gutted as I screwed it today. Nerves. I wobbled a bit when was asked to park on a hill and opened a throttle so the bike revved like crazy. Apparently that was a serious fault. Then everything went downhill. No lifesavers on a couple of traffic lights - another one for you. And then a few missed indicators. Bu**er ! All other minor stuff like progress and positioning I suppose was not that important. Anyway, hopped on my trusty 125 later on and did the whole run again on my own. Can honestly say that I did miss a few lifesavers on traffic lights again. So here is something to learn and fix. Indicators don't seem to be the problem, I think when frustration kickedin I missed them due to that. The other problem that I have to look at would be a slow ride. But I can't train it on my 125 , 500cc is sooooo different... anyway, got test rebooked in a couple of weeks... I'm determined to fix it and pass it then.
  18. Been driving automobiles (lol) for 18 years ( I started driving army lorries first) then good old Lada, then better cars, then fall in love with biking by riding 500cc chopper, then passed my CBT and started riding 125, now after passing Module 1, I'm on my way to Module 2 in a week time. I think I had 6 hours all together training for Mod 1 and there are another 4 before Module 2...
  19. Are you supposed to have a full bike licence to attend Bikesafe, cause I've been told to go home as I have only CBT (apart from full uk car licence)?
  20. Works for me. Well, worked for me on Module 1. One thing not to forget though... Look where you are going and not on your frontal wheel or speedo... That is what sorts out all wobbling...
  21. I hit the cone soooo many times during training on a deserted road, and all of that was due to very small scale deliberately done by my trainer, but once I was on the real thing it was soo much wider and easier !!!
