  1. Mine feels better if you don't blip...

But it gets a bit knarly if you try to do too many downchanges at once...

Have always blipped on downchanges and have never crashed through the box.....

Except on purpose when backing it in on the SV or when motocrossing...

  2. Shoei XR1000 Helmet in Gloss black.... The most comfortable helmet I have ever had on my head and in my price range.... £245 with free dark visor...

RST 2 piece leathers... Good fit at a reasonable price... £300 ish..

Akito Python 2 Textile jacket and trousers... Good fit and very good price... £140 ish

Pair of Denim Draggin Jeans... Bloody brilliant and so cool.... £108

IXON winter gloves.... Cheap, Warm... Hate riding in winter gloves as there is too much of them... Its like trying to ride in boxing gloves....£20 ish...

Swift boots... They fit which quite a few others don't.... £49..... They stops me feet from wearing out so they be ok... Will be looking to replace them with either Sidi Black rain evo or Alpinestars Roam.... Both waterproof, which the swift are not.... They will be around the £150 mark I think...

Summer gloves do not have a manufacturers name on them.... They cost me £42 and are made of skippy skin.... Fantastic gloves which fit my monster hands (XXL)... Oddly my right hand is bigger by almost one full size than my left hand...

I have a pair of Riche short sports gloves..... Next to no cuff but plenty of armour...

My emergency spare helmet is a ROOF diversion R010 in Matt black with Black visor... £150... Will only use in dire emergency as it gives me a headache after 20 mins of riding.... Feels like windblast is tapping me on the front of my brain...

I buy stuff because it fits my size and shape... Helmets have always been bought on this principle... Don't care about Arai being the best as they don't fit my head shape and are overpriced for what they are....

Race rep helmets are not worth the extra money and I prefer plain black, gloss or matt...

    Hope this helps.... :D

Just remembered I have a Hiprotec back protector... Like a vest with a gusset strap, which I removed as I end up with a nasty wedgy, Protects from neck to but crack.... £92... Don't wear it very often as all my jackets have back protector inserts in...

  3. Philip Island is a bogey track for Dovi..

Suzuki have struggled appart from when it was wet...

Lorenzo!!!..... Well there's a highside in the making....

Pedrosa will struggle because of tyre data but a top 5 is possible...

Toseland and Edwards possible top 5 but more like top 10...

Tony Elias!!!!..... Dark horse and could be a spoiler....

  4. 1.Rossi 2.Hayden or stoner 3. Hayden or stoner

Rossi likes the taste of winning again and has been reported as wanting to equal or better stoners win tally last year...

Hayden likes left handers and goes well at philip island...

Stoner because he is riding a guided missile and if his wrist can stand it will be very quick round there...

  5. Used to have a 250 trail bike back in the 80's and I used to get hold of soft Trials tyres for it...

I used to ride it like a supermoto, sliding into corners (front and back) and drifting the back coming out of corners...

Tyres lasted about a month for a rear and 2 months for a front but at £3 for a front and £5 for a back it was worth it....

Around that time we were all a bit nutty....

I was 18 and not a full deck of cards...

  6. The sharpe tests are not proven and there is some controversy over whether they are testing in the correct place on the helmet...

By all accounts they picked the points to test the helmets using figures and calculating percentages per incident and all sorts of cr4p...

The star ratings don't take into account the fact that if a helmet doesn't fit your head shape properly it may cause a more significant injury in the event of an accident...

I would always go with what feels comfortable... That way you know your head fits in it properly...

The sharpe tests are just another tool for the insurance industry to get round paying out if you have an accident and suffer an injury..

They will claim that your helmet was sub-standard and so the payout will be less....

  7. Quite often I brake all the way to the apex....

It steepens the steering angle due to the forks being compressed and makes the bike turn in faster...

As long as you are smooth it works fine... :D

And never just let go of the lever... Need to be a gradual release... :fart:

I use the rear through faster sweeping bends for stability and it is possible to tighten your line with a bit of back brake sometimes....

If you do brake into bends you do need to do a bit of counter steering otherwise it will stand the bike up....

I like to carry corner speed and some of the guy's I ride with aren't so keen to push it so have had bikes coming back towards me, rapidly, mid corner a few times so have had to use the brakes mid corner..... :eek2:

By the way I need a new front tyre.... :thumb:

  8. Pigeons are quite soft....

Hit one in a car at 90.... Dead centre of the windscreen....

Pigeon exploded but windscreen undamaged and cleaned with wipers...

Had blackbird hit me in the chest on the bike once...

Small bird with not much inertia so bounced off with a shortened neck...

Was like being hit with a tennis ball that had just been served...

The funniest thing I have seen was when a Pheasant landed on the bonnet of a car I was in... We were travelling at about 30mph in traffic through some woods when a pheasant swooped in from behind the car and was trying to land on the road in front of us... As it reached the end of the bonnet it's tail feathers touch and it applied the brakes...

Picture a startled pheasant with wings at full stretch sliding back up the bonnet and then the pheasants ar5e and feet disappearing up the windscreen and up in the air....

It left a stripe of adrenalin up the windscreen..... :D
