  1. Dead flies are good water proofing.... I prefer the lived in slightly fecked look.... 8) It looks like you bin tryin.....
  2. Have tried one but it makes you look a right c0ck so don't bother any more... I use a helmet sanitizer now and again... Usually when I go to put it on and sniff it first..
  3. Latest update.... New tyre fitted.. New rear wheel bearings fitted.. Rear linkage stripped, cleaned, re-greased and refitted.. Engine mounts checked and tightened... Lower rear one was a little loose.. Vibration has reduced considerably.. Was only a short ride as tyre was new and it started to rain but it felt better... Good job I didn't go too far as I forgot to put number plate back on... DOH!!! Got to helicoil a fairing mounting point on the frame and put the fairing back on and must try it with the missus on to make sure it is better...
  4. Going to ride it once the wheels back in and before I put all the placky back on so I don't waste time putting it all back together.... Fingers crossed......
  5. The tyre did not turn up today so will have to go tomorrow to get it fitted.... I changed the rear wheel bearings today as I found that one of them was Kaput.... Had a chance to clean it as my mate the tyre man took the old tyre off for me... Going to check engine mounts once the wheel is back in...
  6. Haven't tried that one yet... I stripped and cleaned the rear linkage yesterday and it is now full of nice new grease and has no play in it so I have that to test as well as the new tyre... While I'm checking that lot out I will try the clutch in and revs thing...
  7. I checked the sprocket a couple of weeks back and it appeared ok but as the fairing is off I might as well check it again... The old girl has done 19000 ish...
  8. Got a mate, who used to be a bike mechanic, to check it at one of our rideouts with me and the other half on it and it was ok... I'm going to check all the engine mounts tomorrow after I refit the back wheel and then take it out and see how she runs....
  9. Its less noticeable when I'm riding solo but I tend to sit slightly further back from the tank so the trouser sensers are not registering as much... I can still feel it through the pegs but not as much...
  10. Getting new tyre fitted tomorrow and then will be checking engine mounts... Chain and Sprockets were new last year and lubed after every ride.... Next service is the valve clearance check one.... No excessive noise at moment... Head stock is ok and wheel bearings are going to be changed over winter anyway... Sprocket carrier bearing checked and ok... Front disc's may be slightly warped but had a couple of stuck bobbins which when freed up seemed to stop any vibration.... Biggest pointer is the fact that if I pull in the clutch the vibration goes away...
  11. Thats a possibility but its a bit of a teeth rattler....
  12. RST are quite good and not too expensive... I was looking at a Spada Mesh jacket for hot weather... £80 with a waterproof over jacket... I have an Akito Python 2 textile jacket which is excellent...
  13. 19000 miles and about 18 months on the service as it hasn't had much use this year... Going to be serviced soon...

    Vibration

I have had a vibration on my bike at different revs for some time but recently it has got worse.. It used to start at 2500 and then go away at 3500 and then would appear again at 4500 and go again at 5500... The one at 4500 seems to effect most ZZR1200's as I have ridden a couple and they both did it... Last week I went for a ride with my mates and it was much worse... It started to vibrate at 2500 and didn't clear at all... I was on the M50 and had about 25 miles to do so I took it up to 90 to see if it would clear and it didn't so I went up to 110 and it was still there... Finally I thought the quicker I get home the better as the other half was suffering badly so I whipped the bike up to 140 and made short work of the 25 miles... The vibration seems to be most noticeable throught the rear pegs but I get a fair bit through mine as well.. I have a new tyre being fitted on Wednesday as the old one is a bit tired and I have removed the shock linkage and cleaned and re-greased it... The rear disc warped a while back and that has been changed... I was thinking it may be the engine mounts.... Any other ideas from anyone?????
  15. A lot of the tracks in england could do with a bit of updating... Mainly in the facilities surrounding them... Went to Thruxton earlier in the year and it looks like its stuck in a 70's time warp... Problem is there is not enough money at a lot of these tracks to be able to make any changes..
  16. Don't buy a Nitro!!!!! Unless you want an air conditioned right eye.....
  17. I wouldn't mind making her joints creek a bit.... I'd lick an inch off her.....
  18. It seems to me that you could compare all the latest sports bikes to animals... The Suzi 1000 is a lurcher The R1 is a Greyhound The fireblade is a race horse and The ZX10 is a platypus with a sidewinder up its chuff...
  19. If you like MotoGP you will be boned by the BBC.... As bikers we are the spawn of satan so we are very low on their list of people to satisfy.... We are boned I tells ya BONED.........
  20. Too stiff in race trim and no feel from the front is what I heard.... the MotoGP bike has plenty of power but no feel.... ZX10 seems to just eat its tyres.... The ZX7RRRRRRR had a great front end which was planted and stable and won many WSB races.... Why did they change from a proven race winner to an RSJ.... Doesn't make sense... The new fireblade always seems to be critisized for being too soft and un-inspiring but it has been a great race bike (LAST year).... It seems bike journo's rave about the ZX10 being exciting and raw but it doesn't work.... And as for the ZX6 that walkers on..... Box of matches..... Kwackerbacky!!!!!.... Stop trying to polish a turd and start again..... But for all thats Ninja look at what others have done and look back to what you have made that was great (ZX7RRRRRRRRRRRR) and get it right....
  21. The problem I have is that most of the nice n tasty helmets do not fit my head... AGV don't go big enough.. Had a ROOF but not much padding over polystyrene... ARAI - Wrong shaped head... Dont like em either... At present I have an XR1000 Shoei and it fits like a glove.... Its like putting your head in a pillow stuffed with squirrels....
  22. Roger Marshall.... Overlooked talent..... Randy Mamola.... Should have been world champ once at least.....
  23. Get one with the reservior that goes behind the number plate... Nice n tidy... Check out Demon Tweeks, Busters et al....

    Paddock Stands

Get an ABBA stand... They lift the bike from the swing arm pivot and are much easier to use on your own.. Also if you change your bike you only need to buy another fitting kit which are around £14 the last time I checked...
