took the carbs off this morning stripped down cleaned the jets out let the carbs and jets soak for a couple of hours washed out again in brake cleaner put back together again started on the button will let it cool down this afternoon if all is well wipe stick the tank back on didn't have any coke so used Pepsi max I think the max did it got to have a beer now as out of Pepsi what a shame

weather's not to good tomorrow will get carbs off and give the coke a try nothing to loose will heat it up first

Bought it off of my wife's bosses daughter her husband bought it new only used it a few times then passed away with cancer was in her garage ever since its like it just come out the showroom no problem with fuel line put a clear in line filter in the hose plenty of fuel coke and diesel seems strange but i might try is sonic cleaning worth it or is it hype is it expensive and who does it thanks Alan

honda cb600f 2 2002 903 miles drained out tank changed plugs removed carbs cleaned out main and slow RUNNING jet checked all floats looks a complicated block of carbs re fitted also fitted a new petcock and filter changed oil and filter when I do eventually get it started it runs fine ticks over nice revs up to max perfectly if I leave it till next day will fire up but then cuts out after a few seconds and will not start convinced problem is with carb am I missing anything is it worth me taking carbs off and having another go or leave it to honda to sort out is it worth getting carbs sonic cleaned could they do that as a block or would they have to be stripped right down any one know of a reliable place to do that in essex

Cleaned the cards out slow running jets blocked re assembled cars re fitted their must be a easier way of getting them back into the rubbers connected up everything left the tank off started and ran lovley noticed a water leak found the adaptor which comes out the head corroded thread in head good just the adaptor get a new one order today hopefully get it back together during the week mod 1 next Monday

battery didn't come up flat as a witches tit bought a new battery filter and oil and plugs removed the tank which was fiddly problem was getting the hoses off drained tank while I had that off changed the plugs drained out oil fitted new filter and oil left tank off connected up a temp fuel supply took a few turns it started but as soon as throttle was touched or took the choke off just stopped warmed her up a bit got it to rev up once but will not tick over or run off of choke removed carbs another easy but fiddly job took the float bowls off removed jets slow jets blocked will finish cleaning them out tomorrow stick them back on and have another try watch this space

Will get a filter in the morning not sure what oil it takes will try and find out got some 10 30 fully synthetic in doors might do

Pretty sure the battery won't come up but you never know might be lucky it is on a small smart charger just want to see if it starts rocked it last night in gear all turning over

Arrived home last night and the hornet had been delivered 903 miles on the clock not bad for a 50 plate better than I expected absolutely pristine not a mark on it just a bit of dust got the battery off put on charge will leave it now can't see battery coming up but day off tomorrow will get a new one and see what happens got to get my test done now Feb 3rd happy days

well I've gone for it still haven't seen it but getting to me on Friday it's my wife's bosses daughter that's selling it know him well so won't be caught will have a play in the garage with it next weekend and see what happens can't wait now till next weekend just one last question is it worth getting one of them lion batteries or stick with the normal lead acid whats your thoughts

is it just cracking on the tyres I'd be looking for could I clean the carbs myself or is it a specialized job I suppose best go and have a look stick a battery on it or give it a jump stick some juice in it and see what happens

I might be old but new to bikes looking for my first bigger bike only had 125 till now I've been offered a 52 plate honda cb600 hornet it's only done 950 miles and looks like new the owner never used it preferred his car then a few years ago he died so his wife is selling it always been garaged all the paperwork in order it doesn't start so will need a new battery is it worth a punt or do I leave it not actually seen it yet she is looking at £1550 a bit of advice please

Done my test a couple of weeks before Christmas all the questions and the hazard perception are the same as the real test but their are hundreds of them so they don't all appear and are changed about for every test so if you do fail the questions on your next test will most likely be different but I'm sure you will pass

Don't think it's a wiring problem if it starts with a jump either charging or problem with the starter
