  1. yeah i probably had a false sense of what track time you get cuz there was 3 groups the day i went and i only did it from 1:30-5pm and missed a session or 2 because of having to come in after my brakes failed on me.. had i gone and done the whole day and had brakes that worked all day i probably would of felt like i had enough time on track..
  2. yeah near enough, there was a couple of rgv250's an R1 and 1 other bike which I couldn't figure out what it was.. since i was having trouble with my brake fluid boiling i let them all pass then started recording hence why there is no one else in the vid lol
  3. sorry for the slow reply.. i don't get post notices so only just remembered i had posted this.. the surface is nice and flat its abit tatty on the straights but on the bends it must have been resurfaced because it is smooth and faultless.. it only has one left hand bend and its not much of a left hander so the right side of the tyre takes alot of bashing.. only complaint i have about darley is the fact they only run 12min sessions and its just not enough time to get into it.. its 100quid for the whole day or 60quid for just a morning session or afternoon session.. i won't be doing it again though because for 20-30quid more i could do cadwell or mallory and get full sessions and much better tracks.. i am srad600chris btw just use this account now though
  4. well thats what I mean, if your worried about what if you come off and your hip plays up then why ride on the road. Just stick to road speeds on the track and you will be fine.
  5. as other people have said you don't have to ride out of your comfort zone just because your on a racetrack. Just ride as quick as you would on the road if you are that worried about coming off.
  6. nice one, have fun i'm not jealous or anything lol..
  7. jammy git, i would love to do oulton after i saw how epic it was when i went to the bsb round 2 a couple of weeks ago.. its always 159quid though so alot more than cadwell.. i have tried to do darley moor the last 2 months in a row but failed both times.. first time i went the noise testing guy/gal had gone home because i got there at 2pm to do afternoon session and when i went last friday they noise tested my bike at 105db and they have a 98db limit i was gutted to say the least, will be trying again on the 3rd of june though
  8. I did around 2 months worth of biking before attempting Cadwell.. I would say after you pass your test and get a big bike to learn to control the machine and as soon as you are confident on it and start to find yourself wanting to go faster on the road get a day on track booked..
  9. yeah cadwell is awesome glad you liked it.
  10. i went today was a nice event. always good checking out new bikes and dreaming about riding them lol..
  11. i did my first at cadwell park in late march early april this year and i had only done about 1800 road miles, as phil said its nothing like riding on the road. and i went out with the attitude of its not a race and to build my speed slowly and sure enough with lap after lap i got my gears correct for each corner for what i felt comfortable and just kept getting on the brakes slightly later and getting on the throttle slightly earlier and leaning the bike abit more everytime.. i will warn anyone thinking of doing a track day that its very addictive and you will just want to do it all the time. which is a good thing and a bad thing
  12. cant see why, id much rather do it on an r1 or something infact id like to do it on the sv really, but good fun! well whatever floats ya boat really.. with a sports tourer you can get to germany in relative comfort and go round the ring fast but still in comfort whereas that wouldnt be the case with a gixer thou or an r1.. you would still be going fast but with sore everything..
  13. looks the perfect bike for doing it, well any large cc sports bike hayabusa, zzr, etc.. one day i will go to the ring got to be done..
  14. wow congrats on making it.. must of been a right ball ache.. i think the furthest i have gone in a day is rotherham south yorkshire to northampton and back which i thought was alot but its only 4 hours return..
  15. congrats on the pass, really big weight off your shoulders.. mod 2 is alot less nerve wrecking..
  16. On my cbt i was turning right out of a T juction and there was a few youths stood next to the junction which for whatever reason put pressure on me to not mess up. so i pull out no traffic anywhere but as i pull out i nearly ran a bloke over and his little daughter which were stood on the left about to walk accross the road.. it was down to me not having confidence in how much the bike would turn.. my instructor pulled me over up the road and asked me if i knew what i had just done. only close call i have had that was my fault really, cant think of anything else..
  17. as someone has already mentioned if you know someone with a 125cc bike then find some private land and get abit of pre-cbt practice.. my little brother will be doing his cbt in the next couple of weeks so gonna do that with him, it just takes all the nerves and stress out of it if you can already control the bike at slow speed and get into second gear.
  18. my older brother had the same set of circumstances to you. he was with 2 other people when he did his and they had both ridden a bike before and my brother never had so like yourself barely got any time to practice. i think its probably cuz the instructors look at the pupils and if they see most are competent and getting on well they must just think "right then on the road we go".. and forgive me if i sound like i am taking the p*ss but you couldnt work out the steering on a scooter?
  19. just seeing if anyone from here would like to ride out to york raceway i am going from rotherham, gonna ask a few mates and see if we can get a decent number of people going should be a good laugh.. weather permitting obviously, details can be found here http://www.york-raceway.co.uk/events.html
  20. are all evening sessions always 4 sessions or can it vary organiser to organiser..
  21. i was there, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sb4TYyr0KEY.. if you go to 1.23 on the video i am on my white and blue srad in textiles with a high vis on.. was a great day worth getting up at 7am on a sunday for it, biggest bike cruise i have ever been in..
  22. wow what a palava.. wish i had the money for tommorow just checked focused events site and they got a few places left and it should be dry tommorow too.. have fun tommorow chris as i am sure you will even though you will be taking it easier on your cbr i hope. with it being road faired and what not
  23. now you may just be onto something.. think i am gonna have to wait till summer before i get the funds and try and sell my bike and get a dedicated srad track bike which would free up some money for track days also..
  24. should be leading the inters group soon with all the bloody times your going.. wish i had the money to go more..
