1. I will try it at 40 rear as the jump from 36 to 38 did feel better. Not sure what it was last time I went out, but do think it was under 38.
2. The new tyre is about a year old il check the code but i did when got it and was happy. Doncaster motorcycles are good with tyres, its a Metzeller m7rr and no there not matched, but this combo ran great until a couple of weeks ago. way better than with the old back tyre. I know alot of mix tyres as long as they are the same style.
3. Woo Hoo ! Cheers Ian arse, loads of comments without pics.
4. few trips out with the V6 i got from SometimesSansEngine and we love them. Longest trip was 2 hours or so and we had no issues. If she dropped back to far lost a little sound but thats normal. Very clear comms and our bikes are not quite. Not tested with music as my normal phone has been broken 2 weeks and using a temp one. so very happy.
5. Looked at it, check for oil leaks (had oil and filter change) and all is good. Cleaned the Mrs bike and gave her engine a tidy.
6. suzuki say 36/36 but ive found 38+ better. Not tried 40 yet but think its worth a try. rear is 160/60/17 front 120
7. good point mate lol
8. I agree, i think its likely to be me. cant find anything that could trigger it, apart from pressures off and giving me mixed signals. its not like im knee down lol
9. I think your right. Id got to 38 rear before and it felt better and 34 front. id let the rear sit at 36-38 but it needs to be above 38 to work how it should. some could be in my head too but i had got confidence in it until a run to chesterfield and roundabouts felt shit then on way home back seemed to slide so much i threw foot down, went to car park straight away and did tight low speed turns, was fine. seems above 20 it feels shit. So was thinking tyres and me expecting it to be crap/. cheers
10. wheel alignment perfect, was done by garage and ive just re done it after doing new chain, aligned by the notches but check with bar tool as well. Will have to try pressures again a little higher for rear. Wheels are on the right way yeah.
11. Ive struggled to do jobs on it yes. took me ages to do fork seals lol and rear tyre was shit so it got new 300 miles ago. But i totally agree and thought today it cant hurt to let someone who knows there stuff test it/
12. 36/36 but 34/38 felt great then out the blue its felt like it wants to slip/. New tyre on the back 300 miles ago. worn in nice. wheels aligned perfect
13. other week on a roundabout back seemed to slip and for the first time in 3500 miles i went to put right foot down. Today was like bike lent over or slipped, but if it slipped it would keep going im sure.
14. Hey all. The last couple of rides out have not felt right. Due to a bad ride, I examined the bike and that was how I saw the chain was ruined, so bought new and sprockets, there all on. Went out today and still felt it wanted to slide on right-hand bends, and not fast or that far over. Tyres are at 36 rear 34 front. I do prefer 38 rear but 2 psi cant matter too much surely. No oil leaks that i can see and did oil and filter change anyway so it has new sump plug and filter. I can't think what can make it handle crap on the right-handers, surely it would be same for both.? Any ideas.?
15. yeah seems its how they were sent from factory when new. all good as long as it fits.
16. new JT sprockets and DID chain arrived. Front sprocket looks very different to old though, has rubber on both sides. looked online and that model defo for my bike. guess there are alot of varients
17. That was my first choice actually, but I was tempted by something more solid and waterproof for winter use. I know what you mean. The tough box is secure too as bag can come off. But the oxford 40l zips off at the bottom to take with you if needed. Its waterproof but the top box are 100%. Worth looking on sale sites on Facebook for 2nd hand. Marketplace has all sorts which surprised me,
18. nearly sorted just need to plan a location. my 40l tail bag seems to hold far more than I thought. Collapsing kettle, gas stove, 3 slim pans that form lids for big camping pots but big enough to cook soup and stuff. we will have bacon butties breakie and eat out at lunch etc. Spare gas, collapsing light, peg hammer, 2 thin sleeping bags, blow-up pillows, plastic wine glasses lol (why not) most cooking stuff and all above go in the tail bag with space for sugar, coffee etc. All the Mrs has to carry is tent and sleeping bag, few spare clothes. Just got to decide where but near Whitby looks likely. A site with cafe looks likely so we only need to cook brews and breakfast. And can wash etc. I do like the idea of rough camping out in the wild as it were, but only Scotland and Dartmoor offer that. But far for her this time. thanks for the input. As its, a novelty for us and the first time we will take pics of it to bore you all with
19. consider a 40l tail bag. I got mine second hand and its got loads of room and pockets etc.
20. I would hazard a guess at yes as it's an oil seal that you are changing I believe....but I could be wrong I thought so but wasnt sure if the oil level would be lower etc. Good excuse to get an oil change in and do it all.
21. chain and sprockets ordered. will do seals at same time.. do i need to drain oil to do output shaft seal? Richzx6r
22. whats baffling me most, is one site will say i need a 525 chain and my chain does have 525 on it, then on wemoto etc it will say i need a 530. Guessing this is why chain and sprocket kits are best?
23. how easy lol might as well do it if so, but maybe do output shaft seal at same time.. if sprocket will come off, hear they are tough cookies. Usually a metal retaining ring with one bolt and it all pops out good to know cheers
24. how easy lol might as well do it if so, but maybe do output shaft seal at same time.. if sprocket will come off, hear they are tough cookies.
25. il check that guide cheers.. i do lube it but realise i must have left it longer than usual
