I baught a 2010 V-ROD Muscle a few months ago with only 5,400 miles, it seemed like a good seal for £7,000.00 (my 13th motorcycle but 1st V-Twin). During the test-ride it rode a little rough in the midrange but the dealer mechanic assured me it was because of the Vance & Heines pipes throwing the ECU off a bit. I experimented unsuccessfully with hotter plugs but went back to basic H.D.s gapped at .040. The only other mods I've done are a K&N air filter, removed the airbox top, hotter coils (on order), and I plan on capping off & insulating the air temperature sensor (the cold weather is causing the ECU to spit out even more fuel). It came with a Scremin Eagle race tuner (which the H.D. dealers are forbiden to tune with) so I'm assuming the previous owner monkeyd with it without a dyno because it is running WAY too rich. So far I have a few options; 1) Pay the dealer £185.00 to te-tune with a Stage 1 program and lose power. 2) Take it to a non-dealer tuning expert 30 miles away and have him try to dial back the fuel output on the Dyno with the current Screamin Eagle tuner for around £240.00. 3) Take it to a well known tuning expert 150 miles away who recommends a certain "Power" tuning program from Dynojet with which he assures me will make my V-ROD run as smooth as a Swiss watch....for £480.00! I'm leaning toward the 2nd option but I'm not sure. What do you suggest? Thanks. PS. Which razor should i use in absense of a DE? I'm thinking of taking a soap, styptic pencil, and a cheap synthetic brush. Would then blade disposables be a good place to start? Or a fresh Mach 3 like on this url?
