    Visor Poll

I got clear and smoked with my helmet and used them few times but the smoked one is not really dark enough so I don't think there is point to it. Recently I bought a mirrored gold-ish which I am using at the moment. I think it looks awesome with black lid but it's not really dark either, it's makes the world look very 'warm' . Went past some cop cars and they didn't care.
  2. Bicycles have sh*t load of space all round the campus and they don't park where we park our bikes, we actually park on a pavement. It's like 10 metres long, and we park just next to the wall so there's still a lot of space for people to walk. I don't know, I'm annoyed, but on the other hand it's a pavement so they had every right to do that... I'm not good with writing official letters Oh and the sign says there will be a "60 pound fine" for parking. They can't use the word 'fine' right?
  3. They've put "No motorcycle parking here" where I (and about 10 other people) park their bikes at university. Motorcycle bay at the car park is enough for what, 4 bikes?! F**k you Salford uni

    colour change...

I don't want to steal the thread, but I have one question. If you change the colour and notify DVLA, receive amended V5 blah blah blah, do you have to tell insurer that your bike is "modified"?
  5. The purple penetrater If I was putting text stickers on my bike I would make sure that I know how to spell first Nice one cypek
  6. Bought a Fazer back in January, day before I failed the first mod1 It's been sitting in garage waiting for me. rennie: Yeah I imagine it's a new world. My 125 was annoying me lately because of how slow it is, how poop the brakes are how light it is (was blown across the lanes in recent strong winds)
  7. And you can strap a sleeping bag etc at the top of it! Did you guys used it rain? I found it's not really waterproof, but it was almost a torrential rain, so not too bad. The chest strap is awesome, so comfortable when you have something heavy inside.
  8. So yesterday, at about 9pm I received a phone call from my instructor asking me if I'm ready for today's test. The only problem was that he never called me to say he booked it for me Anyway, I am surprised how calm I was And the test itself went very quickly! Passed with 4 minors: cut corner entering the test centre at the end, stopped at the kerb too fast, moved to close to the kerb while turning left x2 Instructor was telling me to move to the left, but this examiner didn't like it, weird. Oh and I had a flat tire yesterday, inflated it and in the morning it was flat again. It would take me about 3h to get to my instructor using public transport so I inflated it again and took the risk. Got there somehow but now both tire and tube are buggered completely so I left the bike at his house and got home by train and bus. In full bike gear. On such a hot day. And I don't know how to get the bike back
  9. I use Knox six pack to carry my stuff to university. Pretty comfy especially with the chest strap when you have something heavy inside.
  10. Ugh that's a bad news. My legs are pretty standard so I hope they will fit, because I really like them. So, you're getting Alt-Bergs now I assume
  11. Cobbz, John from Mercury was recommending me Alt-Bergs as well. He said they cost him as much as his TCX Infinity, but lasted 5 years instead of 6 months, with replacing the sole once during those 5 years.
  12. Don't worry mate, you'll pass next time. When I was doing theory for the car I failed first time on hazard, I had 42 The second time it was 52 And bike theory, I managed to get 65 or 68.
  13. Right, so I was too embarassed to write anything after I failed mod2 second time. Everything was perfect except because of all that stress I didn't tuck in my left foot and guess what. What an idiot. I had another go today. Day started very badly, on my way to the instructor I locked up front wheel on some bloody diesel, and almost hit car in front because I had to let the brake go... Anyway, there was different examiner than previously, awesome. This one was much friendlier so I calmed down a bit. Had 48KM/H on the avoidance so had to do another attempt which I think was 52KM/H. I had 57 on the emergency stop and he said I have done it very well, especially considering it was wet Oh and I was a bit wobbly on the slow ride because I was too close to him and wanted to make more room and almost stalled, but hey, I don't care now.
  14. Debs, is Blackrod too far for you? If not then try Mercury Motorcycle Training (google), there is a phone number on their website, don't email them as John (boss) said he is old fashioned and doesn't trust people who email him I am doing my DAS with him now because I enjoyed the CBT so much, great guy. How much the CBT place will cost you if I may ask?
  15. So buy brand new TT XL and get the case that I mentioned in my previous post. You'll save some £s compared to motorbike satnav. The bracket on TomTom Rider is the worst thing invented by human. A lot of troubles with charging, and you don't want that when you ride through Europe! New bracket costs around £50
  16. Check this. I bought myself a satnav device for 30 pounds. Used of course, and some unknown brand - MyGuide. I think it originally had iGo 2006 on it, but it didn't matter, I just wanted the device. It's got Windows CE as an Operating System, so I installed TomTom 7.9xx (that's the newest one for WinCE), got 860 map for it (newest), speed cams from this month and I'm happy. Of course it's not waterproof so I bought this: ebay item number: 230573347416 (they have it in two or three sizes). Alternatively you can get something like this from Givi for ~40 pounds. And because my device is pretty old, the battery doesn't hold the charge for a lot of time, so cigarette lighter costs what? 5 pounds? Connect it to the battery, put under the seat and voila. Enough for me he he. Just an idea for you. Whatever you do, don't buy TT Rider.
  17. Was supposed to practice on Saturday, but it was frosty so I couldn't, the instructor said "you have to ride 20 miles in these conditions to get here, don't risk it, you'll nail it anyway". And it was my first ever attempt on a 500cc. I would have a mod2 on Friday if I passed but it had to be cancelled. Another mod1 attempt on Monday..
  18. Just failed mod1 today On figure of 8... The first time I did this bloody thing, without any practice Oh and I got me a black Fazer yesterday
  19. You should be fine if you put just spare pair of gloves in it
  20. That's a lot of useful info here, cheers. Anyway, I left that bike, there was too many things wrong with it.
  21. ahh thanks a lot. I knew he was talkin shiii..
  22. Alright, google didn't really help me so I'm asking here. I'm no mechanic so I have no idea about this. How often do you do carb synchro?. There is that bike I'm interested in, less than 40k miles if I remember, and guy says he did it few months ago. Now, my 'mate' is telling me to leave that bike because "you don't sync carbs at that kind of mileage" Is he correct?
