  1. You could buy a practice CD, with all the questions and hazard perception videos. It won't be more than £10 I am sure, and it's pretty useful. As for the websites, I was practicing on this one all4bikers.com/theory/. Good luck, it's easy.
  2. 4hrs riding on Wednesday, 4 on Thursday. Then Mod1 practice on Saturday/Sunday, but don't know how long. Then 1h practice before Mod1, and we didn't discuss yet how much riding before Mod2 I will get. The price includes tests I hope I don't remember what the guy said. Even if that's not the cheapest, I still want to do it with them as I had great day when was doing CBT. And all thanks to Cobbz, cos he recommended them to me.
  3. Yes! The day has finally come. I am starting my DAS tomorrow (if the instructor didn't forget haha, it happened to me when I was learning to drive). As far as I know I will have Mod1 on Monday morning and Mod2 on Friday. Do you have any useful advice? I can't wait
  4. Shweet. I like integrated turn signals, but thought they are not road legal in the UK?
  5. Yes, unfortunately you have to do theory and practical for bike as well.
  6. Loving the back protector. All of the stuff look good, and you chose good colours too.
  7. Cool, thanks
  8. fazerboy, may I ask how much the whole trip set you back?
  9. How about this? It's 960p, but I'd rather have this than 1080p for so much more monies. Oh and it's got 170º angle of view. You can find many sample videos on youtube, as it's quite a popular cam. http://www.actioncameras.co.uk/gopro_hd_hero_960

    Snapped chain

Oh what a journey home I had today after university... I was doing about 20mph, constant speed, no acceleration or changing gears, and suddenly I heard big bang, the bike didn't react to the throttle anymore so I stopped and wanted to get it on neutral but the gear lever (pedal?) was floppy. I got off the bike to see what the hell happened. I saw cracked chain guard and the chain was on the ground behind the bike. It didn't fell off completly, one end of it was still inside the engine case, where it goes on the sprocket. Soooo I had to push it home, 2.5 miles. God if feels so light when I ride it and after few minutes it felt as heavy as a tank when I was pushing it. After 50 minutes walk and few funny looks from people I got home and put it in the garage, I don't want to see the damned thing at the moment. I wanted to ask you, more experienced bikers, what could cause this. I had the bike for about 2 months, I did about 540 miles and when I got it the chain was far too tight. I adjusted it to a point where I believe it was okey, as there is a small window in the chain guard which tells me that if I see the chain in it then it is adjusted correctly. However the top of the chain was resting on the frame, well not the frame itself as there was a plastic guard on it. I forgot to find out if that was bad or not so it was like that for a while... Also, I cleaned the chain only once (using white spirit) and lubed twice. Was it my fault or the chain was so old that it gave up? The bike is 19 years old SR125 and when I got it the oil and tires looked like they were never changed before I wanted to know if I fu**ed up, so I don't do it again you know
  12. Good job dude. I so can't wait until full licence and after reading those happy topics here it's even worse heh. I'm gonna be 21 in Jan so it's not worth doing it now I guess... Oh and I passed theory yesterday
  13. Might sound stupid but, is instructor also an examiner when you're doing bike licence?
  14. Gratulacje kolego Me too. I've only been riding 125 for few weeks but I love it so much that I can't image what it's gonna be like on a "real" bike
  15. Wow, £90 for that cover I've seen something like that for $400, so 90 quid looks lovely. And I really like the helmet.
  16. It's me again, and I want to thanks CobbZ once more On Thursday I called the place in Bolton you recommended and nice lady on the other side said there are two places (cos I was doing it with my father) on 28th!! I couldn't believe it. I just came back from there and it was pretty awesome, even though it was pissing with rain. All three guys were great, but Neil (I think. Ex army guy) was exceptional, he was teching me most of the day, and then I rode with him on the roads. Great, great guy. Even offered me his Yamaha TDM cheap as chips. He said it's gonna be OK for beginner I already told them I'm coming back for DAS once I turn 21.
  17. O that's nice I will contact you when I will be entitled to riding a bike. Thanks.
  18. Thanks for not ignoring the new guy lads I've been to Scotti Knights today and spoke to the lady, they charge £120, don't do CBTs on the weekend (unless you do it as a part of DAS) and the earliest free slot at the moment is mid-September - that's in case someone needed that kind of info
  19. Thanks man. I've seen this website but was hoping that there are more centres. Bolton sounds good, and the price is really good. I was expecting to pay somewhere around 120 pounds so that's a nice surprise.
  20. Does anyone know of any places where I can do CBT in Sale/Altrincham/Stretford area? I only know of Scotti Knights. Is there any other in that area or should I try to find somewhere else? Also, are there usually long waiting lists for CBT's? Thanks for any input
