    RUST

from all the weather we've had and the amount of salt and grit that gets put on the roads its inevitable that bike are gonna suffer but my bike its a 10 plate bike and the engine is exposed as its a supermoto style so there is alot of bolts and bare metal etc.. and now alot of it has surface rust and it looks S*** to say its a newish bike, does anyone know a way of getting rid of it and stop its rusting again?? any tips and advice would be much appreciated!
  13. thanks for all the advice! passed mod 1 and mod 2!!! fully fledged biker now!!
  14. ive got some bike gloves from aldi that are really thick and were good in the winter, the stuff they sell is good stuff i think and you can get newsletters from aldi with the early heads up of whats gonna be in
  15. ive heard that its best to do as the examiner says just to keep them happy and more on your side well i can drive and i can find where i want to go using signs so i should be fine its just i passed driving test just before they introduced the independent driving but i should be fine mod 2 all booked but cant get it until the middle of march so now its booked ill be checking daily if there's any cancellations, cause im having them!!
  16. yeah she must of touched the front brake and the ground was wet! ill have a look on the sheet then and ill prob get it booked tomorrow for sometime i live in derbyshire so i know country roads like the back of my hand!! but the closest test centre is nottingham about an hours ride away! thanks!!
  17. my nerves where sky high when the girl before me came off her bike during mod 1 so i should be fine with nerves:P i get you so that mod 1 sheet is a tick sheet for mod 2 basically, that should make things more clear and im not to fussed about the using signs its just the test centre is in the centre of nottingham and i hate city centres! but i suppose i should be ok with it it wont be for a couple of weeks because my boss wont let me have half a day off to do the test unless i can get a last minute one on a thursday when im meant to be at college thanks for your help
  18. i was just reading this and its on about independent riding.. http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Motoring/LearnerAndNewDrivers/PracticalTest/DG_178328 well id love to know how i did on my mod 1 but the examier didnt press hard enough on the paper so i can see the speeds i did and the i did a u turn and thats it!! ill have another read through to see if i can see anything.. its it the so called 'easy' bit of getting the licence or not?? thanks, i should be ok but just want to make 100% sure im ready for the test
  19. a few quick questions.. anyone who has do a mod 2 recently, is it the same as in car tests now as you have to follow signs yourself for so long? is it just yourself and the examiner on the road? is the any certain thing you need to learn for or is it just safe road riding? (lifesaver, mirrors & signals?) any other info people have would be much appreciated
  20. havent really go time to go to a school before mod 1 so ill just see how that goes and if i do fail at least its only £15 ive lost but before i do mod 2 ill defiantly do something as its £75 im doing it on my bike so im familer with it and ive been riding on a 125 for about 9 months soo i 'should' be ok... fingers crossed!! thanks for the help!
  21. ill be out soon! this weather dont help plus ive got to get my 4th new l plate for the rear cause it keeps snapping off lol soo on mod 1 is it like a cbt where there is 2 other and an instructor or is it just yourself and the instructor? and the same for mod 2 really?? (not booked that yet even though you can book at same time as i dont feel too confident about mod 1 lol) thanks
