  4. I've been told that riding bikes on motorways long distance can ruin your tires? Is it true and to what extent? I mean how far on a motorway as I am hoping to go to the seaside soon which will be a 2 hour ride mainly on motorways? Will my tires be knackered after or not? Plus the sv's front tyre looks like it's been on the flat alot as its flat in the middle.. But I don't no how much was motorway etc..
  5. just to let people know that a few of us are gonna be down at MFN in Nottingham wednesday night if anyone else is interested we'll be down there for 7:30-8ish
  6. I've done plenty of riding on my old 125 but I'm still getting used this new bike and ive only done 2 group rides and the last one was at the the weekend and I think there great cause I can follow others and learn from them and other people tell you where you go wrong etc..
  7. ive not really tried tricking your body to be fair but i have sort of done it by accident cause the week that pancake day was on i didnt change anything i just ate pancakes and i seemed to lose a bit more, but as it sounds like it has worked for others ill have a go great advice people!
  8. yep ill be there weather is looking good! 'fingers crossed'
  9. i am also trying to lose some weight and its not dead strict but being big runs in the family so a load of us from the family have got together and decided to make a bet and put £1 in a jar every week and more if you put on or none if you lose and theres around £160 in the jar and this all started in the being of january and its whoever loses the most 'percentage wise' wins the lot, im 2nd in the running but my uncle has lost about 3 stone so looks like he's gonna win it as this week is the ladt week were doing it untill we start it again in a couple of weeks but however even if i dont win its been a huge incentive and it gets the family together ive gone from 16 and a half stone to just over 14 and a half and my target would be anything under 13 stone by the end of they year which i think it a reasonable target as all i have done is instead of using the motorbike to get to work (3 miles) i use the push bike and ive ate healthier overall but we still have the odd takeaway just to keep us all happy but i do think im alot more confident and you feel better physically and mentally the only downside is my motorbike jacket is to big now but im glad!

  17. im in desperate need of some sort of protective trousers lookiing at leather but as i will ride through winter im thinking ill be better off with the textile type, ive got a 'gear' jacket and its great its just its getting a bit big for me and in need of a new one as its only useful in winter when ive got about 10 layers on under it what everyone recommend for textile trousers and jackets plus got about £200 budget and didnt think it was to bad as this jacket ive got was £100 and trousers arent as much as jackets
  18. my dad was telling me its the last weekend where you can ride up a road to the dam or something like that before its shut to general public cars from easter to october, ive never been on the bike but the weather isnt looking great but might still go for the ride ive got waterproofs so if anyone else is still up for it ill be there, have no idea how to get there though
