  1. So folks having a couple teething troubles with my new bike, only had it a day and speedo stopped working altogether took it back to garage where i bought the bike they tried another speed sensor and no joy, so they changed a small connector attached to the speed sensor and that seemed to fix it although the garage does not even know what the connector does. So assumed bike was fixed, but straight away felt the speed reading was not right, so tested today using a speedometer app and the speedo is off by 10-12 mph. Garage does not open till tuesday does anyone have any ideas ?
  2. It could be a faulty battery, does the phone detect the charger being plugged in ?
  3. Yes viper talking about a one piece leather suit, could never afford one but have found a richa assault suit on sale really cheap, but only have sizes 38 and 48 left. I know i am not a 48, but i feel 38 might be right. If it helps i am about 5'8, 9 stone and 28-30 waist.
  4. Anyone have a any tips on defining what size to get in a one piece suite, all the online size guides give different stats for the same size of suit. I am looking at a couple of on sale suits, one of which is a 38 which i think is about right given the info i have found.
  5. Yes fully warmed up and when it first happened it was out riding, i will check the fuel tap and any fuel filters, i have tried setting the fuel tap to different settings.
  6. Hey everyone looking for some advice about my rough running suzuki. I think it is some kind of fuelling problem based on symptoms see what you all think. Had the bike about 2 years and been fine for most of that, out the blue a few months ago it started slugging and cut out being it was winter i have replaced some old parts, but bike has pretty much lay since last year. I have fitted a new battery, new coils, new air filter, new spark plugs, i went to the bike today and got it to run, but still has the same problem. The bike will start and run with the choke on, however when i turn the throttle it cuts out. Any ideas welcome.
  7. yes tango, i am talking about the caps that connect to the HT leads. Mine do not screw on it is just push on connection, however the new leads on the new coils have no hole at the end to push onto the connector inside the plug caps. The inside if the ht leads is similar to a tv aerial, a white hard inside with metal strands inside that. I have tried to fimrly push on the plug ends to pierce the end of the new leads, but the white inside is too hard and i do not want to force it an harder and break the connection inside the plug end.
  8. Looking for some advice on fitting new ignition coils to a suzuki gsx 600f I have bought a new set of aftermarket coils and I am struggling to get the end caps, I have replaced coils before but with a used set and the end caps went on no problem. But with this new set the hole at the end of the coil lead has not been made, I have tried just pushing the end cap on but will not go on fully. Do i need to use a screwdriver etc to make a long enough hole to reach the pin in the end cap ? Thanks james
  9. So i performed the fuel cap test, there was no hissing sound when i opened the fuel cap, I also tried running with the fuel cap wide open and it made no difference. I checked the fuel tap and fuel is coming out, one thing i am not sure about is, when the fuel tap is not set to prime should fuel come out of the prime flow pipe, when i took the hose off the prime feed pipe there was fuel coming out, also this was done when the bike was not running.
  10. Thank you all for the replies, I will do the fuel cap check tommorow and post back with result.
  11. Hi folks looking for some advice on my suzuki gsx 600f, which has just started having problems. I took the bike out yesterday seemed fine, but after less than 10 minutes when i was changing down the revs dropped and the bike just died, tried to get it started again changed settings on fuel tap but did not work. After sitting a few mins i eventually got it started, but was very sluggish when i open the throttle and it does not respond straight away, it kind of splutters and pops and then will clear itself and take off, the bike ran for a few minutes then died again. Once again after sitting a few mins it started again and was spluttery and banged off fuel when revved hard. This cycle repeated a few times till i made it home. Today i checked and changed spark plugs, but sadly did not work, it still follows the same cycle of running a few minutes then die, then after a few mins will start and seems fine, but after a few minutes dies again. Any ideas on where to go next ? Thanks james
  12. Hi folks i am replacing both my tyres and looking to get new valves with them. The cheapest valves i can get are snap in valves, but it is not much more expensive for clamp in valves which look much higher quality, can someone tell me what the difference are between the two styles of valve ?
  13. I cant find a rear match for the maxxis, but i can get front and rear of the avon roadrider, does it look like a decent tyre ?
  14. An old continental conti, it still has some life left in it, but will also be replaced before summer.
  15. Hey folks i am in need of a new front tyre, I have been browsing tyres and picked out a couple would like some opinions before i go ahead and order. The first tyre is http://www.nationalbiketyres.co.uk/moto ... _1077.html The second tyre is http://www.nationalbiketyres.co.uk/moto ... od_87.html Thanks in advance james
  16. Hi guys n gals looking for some advice, my clutch cable broke the other day at gearbox end, when i went to fit the new cable today i took off the sprocket cover and found the clip to hold the cable was bent open. I have searched ebay and can not find the clip on it`s own, does this mean i will have to buy a whole sprocket cover ? Thanks james
  17. Hi barry, why don`t you just connect the old hard drive and new hard drive to a pc and copy and paste the files directly from one to another with no hassle, then fit the new drive into the v box.
  18. I have tried hodgy, I don`t know if it is because my rear tyre is an odd size, but every where i have looked i can`t find a matching pair with my sizes
  19. I did call a local shop and they said they would never recommend changing sizes and told me the previous owner probably put those sizes on the bike because they are more common and a lot cheaper. Can anyone tell me if the two tyres, I have linked above will match ? The tread pattern on the rear tyre looks very different to the front but i am unsure if that is just because the rear needs thicker tread.
  20. I have been browsing tyres and am looking for some advice if these two tyres will match well ? front tyre http://ssl.delti.com/cgi-bin/rshop.pl?d ... 1110&m_s=1 rear tyre http://ssl.delti.com/cgi-bin/rshop.pl?d ... 1110&m_s=1
  21. I had been looking at online at black circles.com for tyres at the prices seemed really good for top brands, would say it is better to take the bike to a local dealer instead ? Could i ask as it seems the tyres currently on the bike are too big at both ends, should i expect any big difference in the way the bike handles when i put the smaller correct tyres on ? Thanks again to everyone for the help
  22. Hi all, thought i would post a link to this neat app called, i biker, runs on both android and iphone. http://www.ibikerapp.com/
  23. Thanks matty and stu, yes the tyres on the bike just now must have been put on by a previous owner. My bike is a 94 model So is, Front: 110/80/17 Rear: 140/80/17, the correct size for my model ?
  24. Thanks all for the advice, new tyres and new valves it is.
  25. I have just been browsing tyres on the black circles website. As i posted that rear is different to the size advised in the manual, on checking prices the cheapest 160 tyre is over £100, but 150 size tyre start from £50 odd. I suppose that why the owner before me has put that size on, will the difference really have a big impact on performance ?
