  1. Was pissing down for my mod2 so I was constantly adjusting and/or wiping the visor and it never got mentioned... I had a cool examiner though Remember examiners are bikers too!
  2. haha would've been an interesting headline "Biker mugged by Granny..." I have to say bikers are the most helpful motorists I've come across (not biased or anything...) I've had a biker pull alongside me to tell me my bungies on the back had come loose, I've even had a biker pass me, and double back to see if I was ok when I pulled over to readjust something on the bike. When I came off though the cars and buses drove round me until I dragged the bike off the road! I'm sure she would have appreciated that
  3. Riding home from work today I saw a car parked at the side of the road and a old lady waving at me and pointing at a small white box in her hand so I pulled over to see what was up... It turns out she had a flat tyre and the small white box was a Nokia 3330, the battery was flat too so she was stuck, she said she only charged it last week! (Which in her defence, Nokia 3330's only need charging annually, they are unstoppable). So anyway I loaned her my mobile while I changed the tyre for her, and the point to this story? She said she specifically waved a biker down because she knows bikers are helpful Her Grandson is a biker which is why she knew we were helpful So if your Granny got a flat tyre today and a biker stopped to change it - that was me
  4. Some petrochemical sites will not allow petrol cars onsite due to the spark plugs - all cars must be diesel to reduce the risk of a spark/explosion... So should petrol cars also be banned from petrol stations? Sent from my MB525 using Tapatalk
  5. I've been into climbing for years and love it, it can be expensive to start out but it doesn't have to be - start with bouldering, you only really need a pair of shoes and a chalk bag (even these will be considered luxury by many old school climbers) then move up. Kayaking is another hobby of mine and that is expensive to start! At least (unlike climbing) you can buy some stuff second hand. kayaking can be quite posery so older model boats are often far cheaper Not a very practical hobby for a bike though Sent from my MB525 using Tapatalk
  6. I'd recommend surrey, plenty of bike friendly roads and £800 will get you a nice place with a garage (just) good links to london, not far from brighton... Sent from my MB525 using Tapatalk
  7. Don't do it! You'll be charged a fortune! You can however, turn the mobile internet connection off and just use WiFi, it's in the settings somewhere Sent from my MB525 using Tapatalk
  8. I have a ybr 125 with pilot sportys, I found the manufacturers recommendation of 29 psi on the rear a bit high, I have around 25-26 psi I'd start with the manufacturers recommendation and work up or down as required...
  9. Whoohoo, just so happens my new neighbour's a welder so the bike is back together Been out all day riding Cheers for the help though, I may fix it properly later Sent from my MB525 using Tapatalk

    YR help

Is it a yamaha ybr 125? If so that lock holds the side panel on, the battery and a small tool kit are under the panel It is one of three contact points holding the panel on, the other two are above it at either end of the panel - carefull taking the panel off as the one towards front of the bike is a peg which snaps easily, the one towards the back is a hook which also snaps easily Similar story on the other side only it's a screw in place of the lock and that panel hides the air filter In order, open the lock/remove screw, gently prize the peg out of it's slot - try getting your hand behind the panel and pushing it out rather than pulling it, then pull the panel gently towards you and towards the front of the bike to release the hook Hope this helps Sent from my MB525 using Tapatalk
  11. Hmmm, it's worth a try at that price! I guess even if I do mess it up, I'm only back where I started. Thanks for the link, I wasn't sure exactly which bit I needed Sent from my MB525 using Tapatalk
  12. Just got the price - £160, ouch And it needs a new back tyre which puts it up to well over £300... Anybody want to buy a single speed ybr? Edit; I should add the bike was only £650 so £300+ seems alot Sent from my MB525 using Tapatalk
  13. The clutch lever certainly would've been worse! Though I have already snapped the throttle cable... That was fairly bad Hmmm, sounds like a big job, and one which I don't have all the tools for - might have to brace myself and call the garage... Sent from my MB525 using Tapatalk
  14. Just my chuffing luck, got to leave work early, beautiful day - time for a ride Got to the end of the estate and the gear lever falls off bollox On closer inpection the splined shaft has snapped - due to a bodged repair by the previous owner Any ideas on how big a job this is to fix? It's a 2005 YBR 125, any help on what I need, how to do it or what it might cost would be appreiciated Thanks in advance
  15. Got the standard oxford grips on mine, seemed alright but it did develop a habit of conking out at junctions... I would look into the lite grips Sent from my MB525 using Tapatalk
  16. You're gonna get told to head to a shop and try stuff on as sizing varies with brand, material, style etc... Sent from my MB525 using Tapatalk
  17. My CBT instructor told me steel caps were a bad idea as if they get pushed/folded backwards they can cut your toes off
  18. Hey! I'm from near Dunston (Newbottle) and ride a 125 Checking your posts date though you've probably got your DAS by now...
