    if you have a mate with welding gear then yes you can weld a plate over it
  5. I often use a small wood chisel to remove gaskets, but do not damage the alloy so take it easy and get under it in one go, do not scratch around, works well for me.

  7. Well it is not a K100 they are four pot so it must be from a K75 BMW I used to have one of those so I think I am right, it might not be stainless ? still worth a few bob to someone who needs one if it is sound, put it on the BMW bike site or ebay Keith

    Petrol tap

    Just a thought, I had a bike that did that once and it turned out the last owner had put the tap handle on wrong, and it was on prime whan it said on, so it drained the tank missing out the res. worth a check before spending money Keith

Make sure you have play in the clutch cable when it is released about 1/8" is normal and make sure it is still there on both full locks of the bars, it is odd that it happens sometimes and not others it might be a good idea to release the cable on both ends and check it is running free and not hanging up, if all is well you will have to look else where, are you using the correct oil? some oils will cause the clutch to slip and are not recomended for wet clutches on a bike, if all this is ok then it will be a look at the clutch and clutch basket.
