  1. oh jeez Kirsty thats awful Poor guy, hope they are able to save his arm and he's back on two wheels before long
  2. WAHAY!!! Well done Kirsty!!!!!
  3. We got radios with headsets from 'Clas Ohlson', £80 in all for 2 radios with rechargable batteries + charging stand and headsets
  4. With both hands on the bars pull the bike backwards in a straight line, then push the bike forwards in a semi circle until you are in line with the other box, then pull the bike backwards in a straight line into the second box. This is the way I did it, sooo much easier!
  5. Sounds like for 70 you get a 2 hour lesson and use of the school bike during the test which I would expect that the school will have booked for you at a local test centre. 15 is the cost of the test alone so the school are charging 55 for 2hr lesson plus use of bike in test.
  6. Took the last of our stuff away last week, tbh we really don't know what his problem is!! my oh has been out a few rides with him, then a few weeks ago we noticed he was being really off (sent a text saying we hadn't paid him for 4 weeks- I'd missed ONE payment by accident!), then when we text him last week to say we were taking the rest of our stuff away and made final payment because the bikes were off the road indefinitely so its not even as if we could get them back there if we wanted to and he never replied, then that post! Anyway, never mind. Back on topic: Never won the lottery again this week, F*CK IT!!!!
  7. I put my vfr post that I put on here on another forum i'm on and this guy - the guy we paid to let us keep our bikes in his garage over winter and have continued paying over the last 6weeks even though bike been broken down here and only paddock stands there- replied having a real go because I was looking to get a second bike just because i'm a student! Never mind the fact I worked full time 6years before starting uni and spent a few years of that studying in my spare time as well so I could get to uni and that i've worked part time whilst at uni and i've saved pretty much every spare penny I had so I could afford to take this summer off. The bike was meant to be part of that plan. Most students I know drive new minis or similar, have iphone 4, Brand new mac laptops. How dare he! I've no idea what his problem is, but this has made me so angry. F*CK IT! Also the garage was very wet and i'm sure contributed to the problems my bike has.
  8. I think its a great idea And I've just seen that the people I trained with are now doing it! There is a certain place in my local area, that I had originally looked into doing my training/tests with and as I had no previous experience they 'strongly urged' me to do a taster session with them and they charged £70 for it!
  9. Bad luck, this is how I failed my mod 1 (3 times!) also, and similair to you the first time I had ever done it was on my very final practice days before the test after months of training and never having done it before! When I finally passed I made a conscious effort not to use the back break at all, and it worked! Good luck for next time!
  10. Absolutely glorious day outside, sun is shining, 20 degrees, only the slightest breeze. And I am stuck in doing uni work F*CK IT!!!!!! And even if I wasn't, my bike is still off the road DOUBLE F*CK IT!!!!!!!
  11. Aw Bumble They're probably just concerned, but like Paul said, just prove them wrong
  12. Aaron, you have a right to appeal if you think the examiner was out of line, you should consider doing this http://www.dft.gov.uk/dsa/Category.asp?cat=664
  13. Come off at the exit you are in the lane for. I suppose you might get marked down for being in the wrong lane, but as long as you stick with the lane you are already in you won't fail for going the wrong way
  14. bike now been off the road 5 weeks. Part came yesterday that should have got it to at least start. Just tested it and its reading exactly the same as my faulty one.
  15. depends on the individual really. Might take you more, might take you less! If you just pay-as-you-go (this is what I did), it doesn't really matter.
  16. practice ones on internet will probably be just as good Don't forget to try and get practice for the hazard perception as well!
  17. Buy one of the theory discs (can get them cheap as buttons on ebay) and practice practice practice!
