As I said on your other thread, a lot of Bobber / Bobber Black / Speedmaster riders use them and have reported being happy with them.
Yes, but they are using cobras on the front and back and if I could do that, I would surely do because I have read the cobras are good. But the question is about mixing Roadrider MKII with Cobras.

Well, why don't you ask the question on the Avon website or phone them to find out if they recommend running the Chrome with the Roadrider!! They are the Manufacture, even your local tyre fitter should be able to tell you best tyre sizes to fit?
Unless you are planning to fit your own tyres.
That may be a good idea. I just though that I would find enough information on the forum and it would be probably quicker than writing to the manufacturer I will write to them and let you know guys what they repiled.

Hi, I thought we answered this the other week!!! Avon list a pair of Cobra Chrome's for the Virago 535! So why would you want to put the Roadrider on the front!
Because the 100/90/19 front is too wide, I have spoken with others who have this bike and they said that it would not fit well. Also a wider tire on the front might alter the steering. And they perhaps just have an algorithm to recommend tires one size wider and one size thinner than the recommended size, and also they have 3.00/19 as equivalent of 90/90/19.

Hi, I would like to put Cobra Chrome 140/90/15 on the back and Roadrider MKII 90/90/19 on the front on my Virago 535. Is such a mix good/safe?
-
And what about putting tubes to those tires, which are tubeless? Because Virago 535 tires are spoke wheels and require tubes.

Hi @Dawid126, yes you can fit the Cobra's on the rear, but I don't think Avon make a Front 90/90 x 19 in the Cobra range?
What were you thinking for the Front?
Hi, I was thinking about the Avon Roadrider MK II on the front, because this model has 90/90/19 size. Their conversion chart also says that 3.00/19 is 90/90/19. What do you think about such mix - Cobra Chrome on the rear and Roadrider MK II on the front? Because I have read that putting a wider tire might decrease the performance, and the same I have read about mixing models and right now I have no idea what to think

Hi all,
as in the topic, I would like to put Avon Cobra Chrome 140/90/15 76H on my Virago 535, but I have found that the recomended load index is 70 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yamaha_XV535
Does the load index of the tire has to be exactly the same or it just has to be greater than the one specified in the technical specs?

And what do you think about mixing Marathon ME888 Ultra on the rear and Metzeler Perfect ME 11 on the front?
-
-
And what about putting Metzeler Roadtec on the front with ME888 on the rear? But this is a sport-touring tire and ME888 is a cruiser tire and I dont know if such mix would be good. I had a crash on my old bike, rear lost traction in the middle of a turn and because of that I just want to buy the best tires I can get.
-
But the problem is that there are very few choices in sizes that fit virago 535, Pirelli MT 66 Route, Dunlop D404, Heidenau K65, but all those are cheaper tires, whereas ME888 is I think of better quality

Hi, what do you think about putting Metzeler ME888 Marathon ultra 140/90/15 on the rear and some other tire on the front? I was thinking about Pirelli MT 66 Route 90/90/19, because there is no 90/90/19 ME888 size. Or shouldn't I mix tires?

Here (https://www.motorcyclespecs.co.za/model/yamaha/yamaha_xv535_97.htm) it says 3.0 19 and the conversion chart says it is 90/90 https://www.motorcycleparts-accessories-andmore.com/motorcycle-tires-conversion-charts.html. And here https://www.bikebandit.com/tires-tubes/motorcycle-tires/metzeler-block-c-motorcycle-tire/p/52773?m=146375 it says that 3.00 19 fits the machine

Hi and welcome to the forum
First things first don't mix tyres!
But in those sizes I can only find some budget tires of lower quality and now the question is set of worse tires or mix of better tires? Also there are some tires that are only made to fit the front, for example Metzeler ME 11 Perfect or Avon M20
-
Hi, what tires would you recommend for virago 535? I would like them to have max grip, the mileage can be lower. I have thought about Metzeler Roadtec 01 90/90/19 on front and Michelin Commander III 140/90/15 on the back. What do you think about such mix?

Yes, and they just recommended the sizes for front Roadrider MKII and rear Cobra Chrome, they didn't answer whether they can be mixed.
