  1. Not a requirement, but a lot of people have had bad accidents because of forgotten sidestands. I,m sure we could sort summat out for it. Where are you and is the bike going to the rally?

    annoying chain !

Bin the chain and sprockets. Buy DID Gold X ring chain and Renthal sprockets or the best you can afford. Sprockets are cheaper when bought with a good chain . Bring em to Winster and we,ll fit em.?
  3. You could also consider doing your own servicing and maintenance???
  4. Well done for doing your chain. A k&n will flow more air than standard filter, so you will need bigger main jets and pilot screw adjusting. I would stick with standard.
  5. Great pix and write up mate
  6. Have not heard any good things about Goldfren! Buy OEM, EBC or Carbone Lorraine ???
  7. It,s a simple job that most people could do. You don,t need to bleed brakes and you don,t need to top up. Buy a Haynes and follow instructions. Main thing is , don,t push dirty pistons into cylinders, give em a good clean first. If they don,t push in by hand, there is summat wrong. Another thing mate, keep asking questions , questions are good and we like answering em.

    refurb exhaust

If you're sure that's what you want, you should rough up the stainless first so the paint sticks to it.

Can you post some pix of it up mate, I might be able to help???
  10. Yep it certainly is. The Camber road is, so is the Ivychurch road and Rye to Udimore and Cripps corner. Loads more down my way. If you tell me where you will be at 1930ish , I can meet you???
  11. I live 8 miles north of Rye. Will be working on my bike trailer all evening. Fancy stopping for a brew at my place and I'll show you some great roads???
  12. Buy r&g, the best. Mine were 60 quid.
  13. You will need to remove any plastic or rubber seals and grommets. Clean all the grease off the swingarm bearings and mask em from the powder. Ain't seen matt finish, only gloss from powder coaters.
  14. Thanks Akey, really appreciate your efforts
  15. I have no idea yet, but it will be cheap and odd
  16. I can probably sort this for you , but I could do with some good pix and measurements please?
  17. Would have deffo joined you, but I'm on evenings next week. Cuckmere Haven, near Beachy Head is nice and some great roads in the area?
  18. The engine breather is there to depressurise the engine on the outside of the cylinders and pistons. If a piston ring is passing , it can pressurise the engine and blow combustion products and oil mist into the airbox. If you unblock the tube and direct it into a container, run the bike for a few rides and check the container. If a lot of oily crud in there, you may have a piston ring that is worn or broken. Unblock the tube, run the engine and feel how much pressure by putting your thumb over end of tube?
  19. Busy this weekend ,but usually ok for midweek rideouts and some Sundays.
  20. If it started and ran ok with the tank off, then you may have had a blocked breather. If I were you I would remove the tank, drain fuel into a clear container and look for crud and water in it. Remove fuel tap and clean it. Remove carbs and check bowls for water and crud. Give em a thorough clean with brake cleaner. When you replace , make sure breathers are clear and not pinched, vacuum connector runs from engine inlet stub to fuel tap diaphragm and is not split or pinched. The blocked breather you found should connect to the air box and sometimes deposits oil vapour from the engine onto the air filter. Unblock it and direct into a small container to check engine is not over ptessurising or rings are passing. Good luck, Alan.
  21. Grab rear brake caliper and see if it is loose on sliding bolts, check torque arm tight on front and rear bolts. Remove caliper from support bracket , grab bracket to see if it moves. Check wheel bearings by grabbing front and rear of wheel and pull/pushing away and toward you. Check swingarm bearings by grabbing rear and pulling pushing away/toward you. Get back to us after these checks.???
  22. As long as you don t pump em out or push em in too far, you should be ok. Remove the loose rust with wire wool.
  23. Take calipers off and see how wheel feels and turns. Then, if OK , give calipers a good clean with brake cleaner, remove pads , pump pistons out about 3mm and give them a good clean with a toothbrush. When all pistons clean all around, push em back in, refit pads and refit calipers. Where in SE London are ya???
  24. Also consider buying nearly new gear from eBay. Not your helmet though. Buy boots with ankle support and clothing with padding in shoulders, elbows, back, knees and hips. Good quality leather gloves as well.
