    daytona help needed

Search on ebay and google for Triumph etc. Lowering kit ?
  5. Can you post pix of the bits you need? I may know someone with some spares???
  6. Can you post some more pix please Nat?
  7. If you spray direct onto alluminium, you need to use an etch primer to get the paint to stick. I did and it still falls off. Powder coating won't fall off and probably won't chip. Paint scheme sounds interesting. Wonder if someone could photoshop it for you???
  8. Powder coating is tougher than paint and a lot better on aluminium parts. You do have to remove anything that could melt, ie seals and bearings. |You should also protect threads and sealing faces like the part of the wheel that discs touch when bolted on. Some coaters will do this for you , but not all. The caliper pistons will come out with hydraulic pressure, but they will need to be properly bled and ideally use braided hoses!!!
  9. Ahhh I see. Never seen solid pistons? Only way is pressurise em then. Might be worth a bit of WD or 3in1 first though!
  10. That's how I get em out when all else fails. Never damaged one yet!!!
  11. I use a big Rawlbolt to grip the inside of the piston, hold Rawlbolt in a vice while getting caliper very hot with a blowtorch. Tap caliper with a mallet until it turns. When it frees off, spray some WD40 or 3in1 around the piston and gently turn caliper around piston until it's out.
  12. If all else fails, pop it in the post and I'll have a look at it for ya
  13. Helps pistons slide over seals, especially when new. Used to have sticking pistons and overheating, warped discs until I was told about it. About £5 a pot on eBay. Worth every penny. Great build Nat. If you need any bits, I know someone with some ZX400 bits, including an engine and headers???
  14. Great job on the calipers Nat, but best to smear Red Rubber grease on the seals before refitting the pistons. May safe grief once you've bled the brakes?
  15. If it has CV carbs, could be diaphragms or a weak mixture caused by a recent exhaust change?

    engine problem

I assume you mean , when you open the throttle the bike stops accelerating at 5500rpm? Could be air filter related, carb blockage or vibration of an electrical switch.
  17. Gear shift return spring is usually at the back of the clutch casing. Need a picture or drawing to confirm?
  18. Neither am I, always at the back of the novices group, but it's brilliant fun.
  19. You're a star mate. Have a look for my bike; http://i145.photobucket.com/albums/r240/megawattblade/IMG_5211.jpg Anybody else from the Cambridge/East Anglia areas fancy coming up to watch and have fun on Wednesday night?
  20. Be great to see you there mate and I'll happily pay you for any good pix of me. Especially if you make me look fast? Are you really good???
  21. Cheers mate, when I had money , but no mortgage!!!
  22. What times are the standard ones running mate. Some people have the best bike , but can't launch em!
