  1. Went to see my grease monkey today and he took a look,it turns out I still had considerable amount of air in the system! Also he said the binding I was talking amount is minimal and I just need to do a few miles to break into the new pads

  2. Good price that, get him to sort your brakes. Don,t know why manual said break into hydraulics????

Not sure what the last bit ment, anyhow I've a got a grease monkey, told him about my pads and he said something isn't right,he'll take a look tomorrow

  3. Today I had a go at doing my front pads,my manual suggested that I should remove the brake pipe from the caliper,so after doing that and removing the caliper from the bike I took those two pins off(two piston caliper),old pads came out,new ones in,pins back in and all bolted back on to the front shocks, now I've also had to bleed the system again so loosened the nipple on the caliper and kept pumping,I did get some braking eventually but not exactly what I expected.A bit stange because I've bled brakes once before when I changed the fluid and it all went fine and solid.

also lifted the front wheel to see if it rolls freely and it kinda dosen't,is that normal when you fit new pads in,will they go through the stage of breaking in?

    Cheers

    Donnie

  4. Can you post a clear piccie of it mate???

I was actually gonna make a short video, but I thought you guys will probably know what I mean, sadly I've put the sprocket cover back on before taking pics :crybaby:

Basically when you grab it by its teeth and pull towards you there's a slight play?

Might remove the cover and take aphoto tomorrow if that'll help

  5. I was cleaning my chain today and realized there's about 2,3mm of free play when I pull the front sproket towards me and push it in,is this normal?

    Thanks

    Donnie

  6. No mate , probably two. I could do it in an hour, but a garage will charge you for two. Get a price for doing the whole job from the garage and then price up some bearings and a paddock stand?

2hrs for taking the wheel off and replace a bearing?

Will ask the mechanic and see what he says, purchased some new pads, might ask them to do that as well while they're at it.

  7. That bearing has already collapsed. Don't use the bike until both bearings have been replaced.

    ZD

Am I ment to have one bearing fitted on each side?

  8. Megawatt the bike dosen't have a centre stand,am I looking for an hrs labour at a garage?

Colin what you see on the axle is a mixture of dirt and grease,do they sell wheel bearings in pairs?do I need one for either side?

  9. my bike is exceptionally noisy. I like it that way, not cos im a show off, but it sure lets car drivers (and suicidal pedestrians) know you are there...... passed MOT no problem so i'd deffo look for a new testing station....

Yup,just like yourself I like mine coz there are too many blind drivers around so at least they can hear me,mines so loud I have to have music on otherwise my ears bleed, lol, like what other chaps said testers don't measure the noise so it's probably the testers discretion to pass or fail a loud exhaust.

If anyone knows an easy going and laid back MOT station in manchester please give me a shout, mine is running out fairly soon

  10. judging by how red rusty that is it might well be safer to just renew it anyway to be honest

Cheers for your help, yeah I best get hold of a new part next week and have it fitted :D

  11. there would normally be a dust seal over that and its needs greasing NOW that is so dry it could break up and shatter

The dust seal you're reffering to,is it that rubber ring which has come off in the pic?Do I need to grease it inside and try to fit that rubber was back in?I've got some lithium based grease.
