  1. i mean on the way home but yea. coasting with the engine off.

how is it not being in control? the brakes still work and being a steep hill I would be dining an prospectu speed. I can just say it broke down :)

you can say it just broke down, , but yould still be coasting , and not in full control because you cant drive out of any situation that occurs without restarting, and that takes time,,,,thats the view of the law,

I,m not saying u shouldnt do it, the idea is commendable :D

  2. just be wary, they are marvellous tools, but i had probs with a caliper cover, tho mine was allen head, so you'ld think it easier to move with an impact, i ended up with a rounded out allen head!, too much power, with soft metal!

  3. if you mean not starting the engine til u r down the hill? and rolling in neutral?

    that wont do any harm,

although coasting is wrong , as you dont have full control, i dont spose you/ld be pulled for it

  4. ay up shaun,

you need either a 428HD-130 HD CHAIN or 428H(RJ) X 130, not to sure what the difference is , but both fit, i think 1 is a'gold', hm, if chain is worn, it will usually put more wear on the sprockets, and usually front sprockets will wear more rapidly asthey make more turns, so, take a look at the teeth on the sprockets, if any look at all hooked, then replace,,,,,

front sprocket is only about £4 anyway

  8. But not for the bike.

I often see threads on here discussing tyres and their failings on bikes.....well, I got a nail or something in one of the rear tyres on my car....the tyres are "run flat" and there's no spare or tyre repair compound with the car. So I went into the local "approved" tyre place yesterday.....after a lot of drawing breath and whistling the guy told me that it could take a week to get a new tyre in the correct size and rating... The car is 2 1/2 years old....so it's not like it's some old model with odd sized tyres...... At least with my bike I could be pretty much assured of getting a tyre fitted same day or next..... 8-)

So I'm gonna have to limp it through the next few days by frequent visits to filling stations to top the air up......which is gonna be real fun.....

If I didn't have to carry so much cr*p around with me for the job I'd consider using the bike.......but looking forward to a nice little run to Sheffield tomorrow....200 mile round trip........nice...

    12v inflator is your friend!

  9. Hey Sue....are you gonna be flogging cuppa's from the van? We may need some hot drinks when we've been out on the bikes.... Maybe make a bit of dosh for the Forum..... :)
