  1. It's good to have the power when needed. My zzr 1400 puts out supposedly something like 190+ bhp. Never would I get anywhere close to using its performance, but it makes for effortless cruising and fast and safe overtakes.

  2. I've got some Dainese winter gloves that are supposed to be wind proof but they're not. I wear silk liners underneath (used by pilots so try an army surplus store). My instructor said heated grips can actually make your hands feel colder? I have heated grips on one of my bikes but even they don't totally stop the cold but the silk liners do help alot even on my FZ1 which doesn't have heated grips.

  3. In most cases the NHS Trust sells off the parking rights for x number of years and does pocket the cash to invest back into patient care, buildings etc. This was certainly the case in all the Trusts I worked in. PFI hospitals maybe slightly different dependent on the contract with the PFI company. This way the parking company bears the risk of future income and all the hassle of collecting the cash.

Ps: I agree the charges in many cases are too high.

  4. Well did my mod1 today after 3 days of DAS training and failed. Put my foot down on the 2nd loop of the figure of 8 - had never done that before in practice!! Only did about 2 hours of mod1 prep as the instructor said I had it nailed. Oh well.

On the positive side have spent most of the lessons riding on the open road and even did a bit of counter steering today. To do the open road stuff is much more enjoyable having only sat on a bike for the first time for my CBT.

I'm sure it'll be easier the 2nd time.

  5. Well I did my CBT today after never having even sat on a bike before...it was fantastic I only regret not doing it 10 years earlier. Trainer said I have good road awareness and observation skills despite being a BMW driver

I was worried with the whole gears, clutch, rear brake thing...but it came surprisingly easy with only 1 minor unintentional wheelie when pulling away from a rounabout

theory test monday then DAS bring it on!
