  1. It's good to have the power when needed. My zzr 1400 puts out supposedly something like 190+ bhp. Never would I get anywhere close to using its performance, but it makes for effortless cruising and fast and safe overtakes.
  2. Congrats - now go and buy something you'll enjoy riding!
  3. I had no experience. Mod 1 took 2 attempts after I put a foot down stupidly on the figure of 8. Passed second time and the mod 2 with no minors. Took about 5 lessons in total. My only regret is not doing it years ago!
  4. I agree. DAS is the best route. I had never ridden a bike before my cbt but found the DAS on a bigger bike was so much easier to ride.
  5. C for me. Prob about £650 all in excluding the gear and the 3 bikes I then got!
  6. Christ on a bike! I needed qwells just to watch that.
  7. I've got some Dainese winter gloves that are supposed to be wind proof but they're not. I wear silk liners underneath (used by pilots so try an army surplus store). My instructor said heated grips can actually make your hands feel colder? I have heated grips on one of my bikes but even they don't totally stop the cold but the silk liners do help alot even on my FZ1 which doesn't have heated grips.
  8. Exeter based. Would be good to organise something. Mark
  9. In most cases the NHS Trust sells off the parking rights for x number of years and does pocket the cash to invest back into patient care, buildings etc. This was certainly the case in all the Trusts I worked in. PFI hospitals maybe slightly different dependent on the contract with the PFI company. This way the parking company bears the risk of future income and all the hassle of collecting the cash. Ps: I agree the charges in many cases are too high. Mark
  10. Do it. I had never ridden before my CBT this year, passed my DAS at the ripe old age of 40 and got myself a Triumph Sprint ST (before I passed) and love every minute of riding it. Wish I'd done it along time ago.
  11. Well done, mod2 is simple, remember your checks and ride relaxed! Goo luck!
  12. Well mod2 passed this morning. 1 minor for missing an indicator. On a totally different bike so well chuffed. Have booked in for a couple of days on the Sprint now.
  13. Thanks for all the best wishes. The help of the members on this forum is a big factor in this success!
  14. Cheers all. Such a relief. Now just mod 2 then I can get out on the Triumph!!!
  15. On my second attempt. One minor for not quite being quick enough on the emergency stop. Now to book mod2. Mark
