  4. I would second all of what you've said (though I think they look pretty cool in a weird way!) it's a shame they don't have armour as everything else about them is almost perfect. I bought these second hand on ebay for £12 to replace my Spada Enforcer which leaked, were a bit too bulky and were a little long in the thumb for me (guys gloves on girls hands was never going to be the best fit!)

  6. I wanted the Daytona Ladystar for a bit of extra height but I couldn't get the arch of my foot into them, literally couldn't get my foot in! Was very much the ugly sister in the Cinderella story I ended up with boys TCX Competitizone (or summat like that) they fit fine though I struggle the get the zip over the over the ankle when I have my leathers on under them ETA: Check out this blog all about ladies gear! http://gearchic.com/
  7. Did an enhanced rider scheme yesterday and thought I'd give a brief write up on it. I did my DAS at the end of last year and got myself a CBR600F. I'm a fairly confident rider, I have gradually been learning how my bike handles and how far I can take it with speed and corners etc. I decided to do the ERS with the same guy I did my DAS with (City School of Motorcycling Edinburgh) he's quite a frank type of character, tell it like it is with no sugar coating and I like that from a trainer. We were out from 9 - 5 stopping for breaks to discuss what we had just done and what we were going to do next. I learned so much in the such a short space of time it was incredible! By the end of the day I was confidently assessing corners and leaning my bike over accordingly. There were 2 students on the course, initially I was a little disappointed as I had hoped for one on one trained (though that wasn't promised) but it worked out quite well as you could sit at the back and process what you had learned while the other rider was assessed. I'm now really looking forward to summer and getting out for a proper blast on my bike. I'm no longer worried about going out with other bikers and cramping their style by not being able to keep up! Don't get my wrong, I'm not going to go crazy, I know it takes time and miles to build up skills but I have a much better idea what to do to get myself out of trouble. I just need to practise til it becomes second nature! Anyway, I would recommend it for anyone who has recently passed or feels they could do with more confidence on the bike. It's amazing what you can learn being assessed by a pro, I didn't realise I sit a little bit squint on my bike which means I have an odd tendency to take left corners faster and smoother than the right ones, but we had that sorted by the end of the day and my arse is now squarely in the middle of the seat
  8. It definitely doesn't have too much in it, currently sitting a little below half way between max and min. Going to get the fairing off today hopefully and have a look, see if it's anything obvious! Thanks for all the replies
  9. I've noticed a little light yellow/green fluid on the hut floor when the bike has been stored for a few days, does that sound like coolant leaking out the bottom? Would it be easy to find the leak or worth just flushing the whole system?

  11. Me I want to enjoy myself not be well pissed off, if its pissing down its nothing but a waste of money imo! I agree, Scotland is miserable in the wind and rain! It's fine if you're only out for an hour or so but all day riding just wouldn't be fun which is the whole point in a holiday!

  15. I got this last year after a fair amount of shopping around and reading reviews. The back protector was voted best back protector by Ride and is CE approved Level 2 which is the highest rating of protection. It allows less than 5kN to be transmitted to the body, the maximum to pass CE2 is 9kN so it's far better than it needs to be! The only back protector I could find with more protection is the Sub 4 but it's very bulky and not ideal for daily use (which I need as I commute) More importantly, for me at least, they offer a women’s fit! On this fit the waist is higher up (and I would assume shorter) They offer 2 ladies size being up to 5ft7 and over 5ft7. Bought for around £90 on ebay. I really can't fault it in anyway, it looks as good as new, easy to chuck on under the jacket, good length, covers all the vertebrae, doesn't move up, doesn't catch on your helmet etc. Any questions just ask, and no I'm not on commission!

Thanks for all the replies I'm taking her to the dealer on Saturday, apparently the saleman said rattle and CBR600F in the same sentence and the mechanic was like 'Cam chain' notorious or what?! Didn't even get into whether it was covered by the warrenty but fingers crossed, they have been really good up til now.
  17. Well, it's got a mechanical warranty so I'm taking it back to the dealer I bought it from! Plus it's a really fun road up to the garage

So I was warned about issues with the cam chain tensioner issues with this bike before I bought it, not that the warning meant much to me but I was told to listen out for the a rattle when it was idling. So I think I can hear that rattle and over the past few weeks it seems to be getting worse! I made this short video of it, worth a trip to the mechanic? (I don't plan on trying to fix it myself, I wouldn't want to risk breaking a nail ) ">
  19. That was my first and last bike show, might try one of the bigger events down south but I'm not going back to the Scottish one. There was very little to see and do other than sit on bikes. BMW and MV Augusta were not there and KTM had bikes out that you needed permission to touch. The second hall was a little like a car boots sale with boys playing on bikes in the corner (not that I could see anything for the crowd, they had no platform area etc) and the third hall was full of classic bikes and other anomalies. If it hadn't been for my mates banter I would have left after about 45 minutes. The highlight of the day was getting a seat on the new Panigale couldn't get my feet down though

  23. I took part of this road to Perth on Saturday (to avoid the monotony of the motorway) went from Muckhart to Gleneagles then jumped on the A9 which was pretty much as boring as the motorway! As Throttled has said it's a great road, could get some really good speeds up on it and plenty of fun corners. Most importantly it's really quite clean too (which so many roads in Scotland are not at the moment) so you're not coming round a corner to come face to face with a huge pile of gravel on the road will definitely be using this road again.

Thanks for the heads up, the mechanic looked well impressed when I asked if the fuelling would need to be adjusted for the new can So they replaced it with a stainless steel exhaust from the 99 model of my bike. It's the exact same size and shape etc so no fuelling issues it's just in stainless steel instead of black mild steel. They did it free of charge so I'm a happy bunny
  25. To be fair to the dealer, he said it was made from mild steel so a replacement would be the only real option. I asked if it would be a Honda part and he said they were extorionate and they use a company that make after market parts. They could also provide more branded exhausted systems like Akrapovic but he didn't think it would add much to the bike. The after market parts are stainless steel so he says it's not expensive and it will last longer. It still hasn't really been agreed whether they will do it for free, take on part of the cost or expect me to pay. It was a bit of a 'Bring it up and we can have a chat' we'll see! I'm going up with my mate who's taking his blade, hoping bit of brand loyalty might sway their mood
