  1. Hi All

    Hope you are all okay!

Over the winter I have serviced the bike etc and changed the indicators. The indicators are not LED nor where they before, but now they flash too fast! I also noticed by number plate light was flashing also but not in any particular sequence.

Has anyone else had this issue or something similar?

  2. hi

getting new indicators as mine are knackered. Led indicators look good and I am just wondering would o need a different relay for them as they dont need the current the standard ones require?

    bike is bandit mk1

  3. hi all...bandit again.

changed carbs as the old ones were knackered. but the problem following occured more so with old carbs.

when I rev the engine the rpm doesnt drop as it should. ..infact its more the needle doesnt drop at the rate the engine does. the cables are a bit sticky anyway. ..I jave to close the throttle otherwise it sticks at whatever rpm you're on.

when fitted new carbs...started bike and the rpm dropped as soon as the throttle closed...however the engine cut because idle rpm too low...adjusted this and it ticked over at 1300 but the rpm doesnt decrease as as fast as before.

    any advice?

    hope this makes sense

  4. Just to let you know...i have read numerous forums regarding the KN filters and unless you are going to throw money at the machine for new jets its a no go....especiialy on the 600 bandit!

Dynojet stage three is the recommended set up with the KN single cone filters.

I have purchased a second hand airbox after some bartering and a stock airfilter...My bike is on the mend.

Fitted the new Carbs (built one good set from 2 faulty sets) and the bandit started first time after being sat for 8 weeks..bearing in mind its a mk1.

Onto the cosmetics now...does anyone know an alternative to renthals?

    Cheers

  5. Try cleaning the ends of the heavy duty cables. Earth to battery, battery to solenoid and solenoid to starter motor. If it still clicks with a fully charged battery, remove the starter motor and spin it backwards a few times. Then spin it with a connection to earth, but watch out for sparks and that it doesn't jump out of your hand. If it spins , replace it and try again.

Charged the batteries....and guess what happened!

  6. The answer to your question is either

    a) get a replacement stock air box and live happily ever after.

    b) Replace your air box and get a K&N filter to fit in your standard box and live happily every after

c)get cone filters and a whole bunch of other stuff and change your jets and then do dyno runs to confirm you've gained probably a small amount of horse power.

Like many things in life it isn't as simple as just slapping K&Ns in there and going like the clappers. Unless your from the 'sit on the couch all day drinking protein shakes' school of thought.

Hahaha i like it! I have stuck with the airbox (new one ordered) and airfilter set up! Wasnt bothered about the horse power mor about the look but really wasnt worth the effort.

    Cheers

  7. hi this is for a mate

2001 bandit. ..had an accident at 10mph. ..just a few scrapes. been left for 4 weeks bur was ridden in winter weather.

anyway he has come to start it and it jusy clicks. ..dowsnt turn over. ..tried jumo starting and its kicked a little but no start and then with a different battery it clicked again.

any ideas to what ot could be?

worked perfectly before winter. had to uncease his petrol cap and seat switch.

tried with another battery it tried turning but stupidly slow until battery died and it went to clicking again.

  8. cheers for the response. ...could be new airbox then. took airbox off be because it was cracked and only saw kn when searching for airbox.

bike running very wooly so ive changed carbs. ..and plugs. ..there anything else it could be

    cheers

  9. hi

I am very appreciative for your help...took the air box off and its cracked. I can get used one for 29 or a set of kn for 40. love the kn but would I need different jets? if so how would I find which ones I need

    cheers all

  10. Hi All

Sorting a few bits on bandit.

One other thing i noticed is the rpm takes a long time to come down. i rev the engine and it doesnt return to idle as quick as it should. also after riding for a bit...i could be sat at the traffic lights and the engine is idling at a higher count than normal...

    Any ideas?

  11. 'Noon everyone!

How hard is it to recover a bike seat? i am guessing some replies will state how long is a piece of string.

There is nothing fancy about the seat so i cant see it being very hard but what are your experiences?

    Cheers

  12. Hi Everyone

Thanks for the help yesterday (indicator now replaced)

As i have stated my Bandit (MK1) is in the neew for a few repairs...the next one i am looking to fix is the indicator,Light display (dashboard on a car). Is this replaceable...if so what is the technical name for the part...the screen has a crack...still functioning but is something i seek to replace

    Cheers chaps and chappetes!

  13. Hi All

Right, I have a suzuki bandit MK1 and i need to replace the front indicators (one cracked). I took the indicator to bits on the bike...well i unscrewed it from the bracket and took the amber plastic off to remove the bulb. I did this but how do i completely remove the indicator from the bike. once i removed the bulb i started to pull the cable through the indicator shell but it didnt budge i am guessing this isnt the way.

Anyway i ran out of time last night but i will do it later so if anyone has any advice please help ha it may be a silly question but it is my firstbike...thats my only half viable excuse lol

    Cheers :stupid:

  14. Hi All

I have recently purchased my first bike (bandit mk1) which need some work doing to it (if anyone knows of any mk1 carbs going anywhere pm me) ta

Any way back to the post...sounds tight but i am looking to get some trousers, top and gloves for cheapish. I would prefer leather just because of the look tbh! Anyone recommend any lower market gear brand?

    Cheers chappies and chappets!

  15. Hi All

I baught a bandit last year (MK1), it is my first bike and needs a few mods to get it running smoothly...the main issue being the carbs. There are 2 diaphragms that need replacing and a cap...does anyone know of a shop that would sell these...at the minute i am looking at buying a used set of carbs and selecting the best bits from both.

Any tips would be greatly appreciated

    Cheers

  16. 1. Over if you believe there is a potential hazard by going around them, be sure to check for pedestarians and the line in the centre of the road (Solid or Dashed)

    2. No not always 20 but the examiner will be looking for your checks if you do go around the speed bumps. A student who took his test before mine failed for going 30mph over the speed bump.

Congrats on MOD1 and the theory!
