    optimate

been looking at battery chargers etc as far as i have read so far the most popular make is optimate but there are so many of them ! i have a cbf125 at the moment if that makes any difference to what one i should buy. is the cheaper one more appropriate ? help would be muchly appreciated !
  5. I've been looking for a helmet obviously, my thoughts are that if its got some white on it then a person is more likely to see me at night time as my crash was at night and a car pulled out on me ... i think i have narrowed it down to these : Airoh dragon star AGV k3 HJC FG - 15 HJC N63 wing do any of yourselves have any experiences or advise to give about conformability and venting etc... any help would be greatly appreciated ben
  6. as the title dictates I'm after a new lid that does not cost more than £200, a little over won't matter but you get the gist of it, i was just wondering what recommendations and advise i could collect ben
  7. i have an endure style bike and it doesent have the platting to be able to use the usual conventional motocross paddock stand, would a normal paddock stand that is used on normal road bikes fit such a slim wheel base ??
  8. the only reason why im asking is because..... the yausa battery fits exactly has 12 volts and 4ah but has 80A's and the numax battery is exactly the same appart from the fact it doesent even list the A value so thats why i was guessing it didnt matter ???
  9. thanks for the help when im buying the battery i know i must keet to the voltage and the Ah but on my old battery i have another A figure.... it reads like this 12v 4 Ah 30 A do i have to keep to the 30A value as i have seen many that match the top to figures but not the last
  10. i have a dead battery and decided to take it to the local garage to get it charged and they said it wont charge, they cheked that the alternator was charging the voltemeter and said that bosch batteries are c**p as they run out of charge very fast and do not like to retain voltage when charging, ive been looking arround the net and found a NUMAX and a YAUSA battery that fits, i was just wondering wether anyone had anything to say about this battery will i have another crap time with it running out in 3 weeks ? also looking at my battery ive seen that i must keep to the 12volts and 4ah but it has another value of 30A is this amps ? and how would buying a battery with a different A value change performance or would it not work ? i know im asking allot of questions on this forum but im fairly new to motorbikes and id rather be safe than sorry
  11. yesi think so too i just think its strange that i bought a brand new battery a month ago and it has deteriorated this much
  12. okay i took it to the garage this morning as i needed a footpeg and decided to get the spark plug replaced he said the bike is running perfect and the plug didnt really need changing but i did notice i got an extra 10mph out of that bike over what i had previously managed so far the bike hasnt cut out or misfired etc so im happy. one other question is there anyhting that i can do to make the bike start always on the electric start because sometimes i have to use the kick start which normaly kicks first time, im guessing its just the battery ??
  13. okay what im doing is tomorrow im going to a garrage to pick up a new footpeg as mine is bent and i shall ask about the missfire and to check wether the alternator is set correctly. by the way the bike is carburated. im guessing i would not have to make any adjustments if i buy either standard or iridium?
  14. ps how would i go about altering the tickover ??
  15. will do sounds like the way forward only odd thing is the bike only has 1500 milos on the clock. also would an iridium plug make any difference ??

    pop noise

ever sinse i was given this motorbike that i use every day it has worked flawlessly apart from the last few day that the bike has been stalling mainly in low speed manoeuvres, i am i the correct gear but the bike makes a quiet poppin noise then cuts out, but then starts instantly on the electric start whilst still moving any help ? :s
  17. i took the brake of today and i saw that the side to side movement cannot be eliminated completely but will it prevent it from passing its mot, considering the brake works perfectly and the bolt is as tight as can be
  18. ps what can be done to sort it ?
  19. hello my foot brake is slightly loose, the bolt holding it to the frame is as tight as it can possibly go and yet it still has some side to side play ( a centimetre each way) would this make it fail its mot even if the bolt is tight and the brake works as intended ??
  20. its okay not learning about gears i ride a 125 of road allot so that isnt a problem, the only reason why i have to do it whilst im 16 is its the only time i am available to be able to do the test
  21. hi im new to all this but i was wondering if it is possible to do my cbt on a twist and go 50cc moped and 3 days later on my 17th birthday ride a geared 125 motorbike ?? i have heard from some that you can and others that you have to do the test on a 125cc to ride it.
  22. no you got the wrong end of the stick, my bike to be mot'd because its out of mot etc but i need my cbt first to get it mot'd. what im saying is my birthday is on the 31st and is it okay to do my cbt on a ped a few days before and then ride a 125cc bike on my 17th birthday ???/
  23. i havent done it yet (but i chave riden geared many times before) i thing is my birthday is the first day back from hollidays meaning i dont have the time to get the bike mot'd thats why im in this dilema
