Thank you all for the advice I took it apart last night and grabbed the nearest polish I had to hand (aluminium polish ). It must have been some kind of residue as it basically came straight off with some elbow grease. With the top cover removed I was also able to remove the protective film on the speedo/rev dials which were all scratched up. I did some digging and found the part I would have been after is "37140KPNA71 CASE COMP., UPPER" : which online sellers often seem to confuse with the separate - 61310KPNA70 COVER ASSY., METER

Hello I bought my bike unseen as I live on one of the Scottish islands so had it freighted up. It's a 2020 CB125F and from the pics on the sellers website I could see there was an issue with the instrument clear plastic but didn't think too much of it. Looks to have been eaten by some kind of chemical and especially at night is a pain in the arse. As a new rider I want to quickly and easily see what gear I'm in and this just refracts and distorts from the backlight hitting the Fd up surface. I've included a quick screenshot so you get the idea. Is this just sold as a sealed unit so I'd need to replace the whole thing, clocks and all, or can I buy that plastic separately? Anyone know of any websites with exploded view parts diagrams for this bike ? Any help appreciated
