Basically I wasn't in the correct lane for the roundabout..... we approached the roundabout on a small section of dual carriageway, my examiner ( who incidentally was a really decent guy) asked me turn turn right taking the third exit. I heard this but was so focused on the speed limit I did,nt move over to the right hand lane. By the time I realised my mistake I had run out of space and vehicles were occupying the right lane. I had two options....the first was to go the wrong way and turn left letting the instructor re route me or go around the roundabout in the lane I was in hoping for a minor. But I didn't think quick enough and I did the latter....and it isn't a minor , fair enough you live and learn. Nothing I can do but wait for a re rest....in the meantime I've had a look at a few bikes. I like the retro stuff, I've looked at the RE Interceptor and the BSA Gold Star both nice bikes but in the case of the BSA I'm not sure if a single is for me. Also not sure I want a new bike for my first one.....to be honest I really like the T100, my mate has one....it just feels a tad to big...so I'm thinking of a Street twin. Lower seat height and narrow waist and I'm easily able to flat foot it when I'm sat on it. I've seen a couple I was really tempted by...but couldn't justify to myself buying a bike and simply sticking it in the garage.....I'll just have to be patient ....

Hi all.... I,m new to this forum and also a novice motorcyclist. I'm 57 and decidedly earlier this year, around April, to learn to ride a bike whilst I could still climb on one. Now its around 38 years since I last rode my little 125cc to work and I didn't get my full licence as cars came along. So I'm starting from scratch...I've done my CBT, Theory test and passed my Mod 1 via a DAS.......sadly I failed my Mod 2 last week ( my fault schoolboy error) so I'm waiting for a re test, which could be August as they are fully booked, fingers crossed for a cancellation. Not got a bike yet...Ive been very tempted but I don't want to buy a bike and simply stick it in the garage. Same with equipment and clothing...I've been using the training school stuff. Anyway any advice welcome.
