  1. I was in exactly the same boat that's why I brought my 2012 model brand new. I find the gearbox does exactly the same as yours, some times clunky some not also popping into neutral.

As said the mpg is good, I don't think I have ever had it under 100mpg and I don't ride like a commuter LOL, I use this bike for fun! Beats almost anything away from the lights and will sit at 60mph ok.

Great little bike, I'm considering an xj6 for my next bike! Needs more power.

  2. Hello mate, as others said don't let it get to you practice makes perfect.

As for the bike, i have a YBR125, the tyres may be narrow but it leans over quite away considering! So don't worry about that. Just take some of the advice given by others, make sure pressures are up, nice throttle control through the corner and lean as much as you feel comfortable.

  3. Thanks all. I'm chuffed to bits for two reasons.

One, I can hopefully enjoy my new bike now without it freaking me out every so often.

Two, I was right, there was something wrong. My buttcheeks still work after all these years !!

Edit: Forgot to mention, they are replacing the 021s with 023s, which are the latest Bridgestone sports-touring tire, so even better !!

    Happy days, glad it's sorted!

  4. I don't wear glasses, but wondering if you are maybe trying to look too far round for your lifesavers?

I probably am, I go for a right over your shoulder look, I was never taught life savers by my instructor but it's something I knew I should do so did them as I thought they should be done...

If you google motorcycle blind spot or similar you can find pics that will give you an idea where your blind spots are. The way my instructor showed me was with me on the bike she stood behind me to one side where I could see her in the mirrors and then walked forward until I could no longer see her.

Thanks I shall have a look!

As for the rider scan I ride a naked or I would have one already.

  5. Pretty sure you dont need to apply for a provisional because you already have a car license. The entitlements on your counterpart are provisional and your photo card are what you are entitled to drive.

That's my understanding... Could be wrong but when I learnt to ride I never applied for a provisional because I already have a full UK car license.
